Man, the problem with Gumps is that they refuse to acknowledge that political advantages it has within the league office directly relates to the football teams success.

Man, the problem with Corndogs is that they refuse to acknowledge recent history that directly contradicts their delusional arguments.

Where was this political clout in 2010 with our schedule.

We played the Gators 2010 and 2011.
South Carolina was 2009 and 2010.
Georgia before that.

We were playing Tennessee as a permanent rival long before Steve Spurrier turned his program around.

The reality is that we are benefiting from Tennessee's recent struggles.

FWIW, I wouldn't mind doing away with permanent rivals and divisions.

ETA: But even if that happened, I'm sure half the TigerRant would dream up some conspiracy to explain how the new format intentionally benefited Alabama at the expense of LSU

Yeah playing Georgia and Florida from the east is really cush. Forget the open dates. Sometimes an open date hurts a team that is playing well.

If this is the crux of your argument then you really don't understand what this discussion has been about(which btw, was 20 years ago), but if you notice there were no excuses thrown out by my post, but your response is littered with them.

Final note, you're right your team played all of those teams because you were scheduled to do so based on the rotation. When the league changed, your program conviently was given a much lighter temporary schedule and your program's main divisional opponents were given a tougher one. It increases your odds of going to ATL, even though you just went back to back in this league.

It appears as if the scheduling Gumps-in-power at the SEC offices saw this small window before the end of BCS as a nice way to give their school a leg up to ring up more MNCs before real playoffs begin.

Makes a great deal of sense. My main wish is that we just rotate with the east. For A&M fans it would be great to have two new conference teams come on the schedule every year. Don't have a problem if Tenn & Bama agreed they would play every year.

It's the least they could do given that Bama gets two byes against Tennessee and Kentucky while we play Georgia and Florida. Any time Bama wants to trade schedules, I'm sure we'd be happy to.

LSU needs 12 men on the field to survive against one of the worst Tennessee teams in history.

What are you talking about? LSU never had 12 men on the field. And, for the record, neither did Tennessee.

...they had 13 men on the field. And yes, LSU won that game.

I seem to remember LSU 'surviving' against Alabama that year as well. So what's your point?

My post contains facts, examples of the teams we played in several recent seasons.

Offered free of editorial comment for your review:

Mark Womack of The SEC office devised the schedule. example---"Mark Womack, the SEC’s executive associate commissioner who oversees football scheduling, said work would resume Monday in hopes of announcing a schedule this summer."

Mark Womack is a Tuscaloosa native, Tuscaloosa High School graduate and Alabama graduate.

He is a former Alabama athletic Department employee.

LSU plays SEC East teams that went a combined 14-2 in conference play last season.

Alabama, faces teams that combined to go 1-15.

Now this is how men talk

14-2 vs 1-15
I get it. It's not debatable. LSU has the tougher schedule.

A few things about Womack bias, though.
Do you think Mike Slive gives this guy complete autonomy over the SEC schedule?
If yes, then where was it in 2010 when we played 6 teams coming off their byes.
If no, then do you think Mike Slive is unaware of Womacks ties, and Womack just snuck it by him.
