We beat you guys solidly in the regular season and finished the regular season ranked #2 nationally and had a much better record that you but you got a MULLIGAN.

We won the west.

This analogy is pretty weak.

There are hard and fast rules involved here.

Not subjectivity, not "eyeball tests"

I seem to recall UT losing to a 4 loss team in Knoxville with a first year head coach and a freshman QB. Not impressed.

you are too cute ... I wasn't even aware Tennessee was even playing football anymore at a Division 1 level.

I don't blame you for trying to get that one back a decade later. This argument is the closest you will get to an SEC Championship for a very long time, so you might as well try.

As for the acrual argument, there is a playoff in the SEC. Nationally? Not so much.

OMG! Please tell me Vol fans cannot remember back 10 years and recall the facts.

The truth is, the Vols should have lost to Florida on September 15th, 2001, except the NCAA cancelled all games due to the 9/11 attacks. The UF-UT game was pushed to December.

Fast forward to November and FSU's Darnell Dockett twists Earnest Graham's leg the week before the UF-UT game. Florida becomes one-dimensional without its feature back and the Vols D keys-in on the passing game.

UT eeks out a win - thanks to Darnell Dockett and Al-Qaeda.

So, I am glad UT lost to LSU. The Vols didn't deserve that title given the circumstances that enabled them to get to Atlanta.

Had Florida won, the SEC champ would have played for the MNC. Instead, UF tore Wisconsin a new one in the Orange Bowl. Boom!

Travis Stephens ran all over your best Florida team ever that was favored by 18 points. 226 rushing yards all by himself. you need to STFU my friend.

When you count a healthy Earnest Graham.

(who did not play in that game against UT)

I hope my " number 2 nationally" reference hasn't gone unnoticed.

Spend more time helping your team to a winning record. They could use your support.
