Yeah LSU sucks! Les is a terrible coach and Mett is awful! Cam wasn't the best hire, and McGee looks ok as a third string back! BUT we still beat auburn now GA that's another story? Really though...... This is THE best LSU O I've seen in 2 decades, and I've seen more and more of the play book each week! I know one thing those Auburn DCs are gonna have some LONG days and nights getting ready for this game! 2011 2.0 all in all Contender...... Anyone says otherwise is just grasping for hope that it isn't true! Cause they know once LSU has a potent offense, it's Game Over!

You don't have to be an LSU fan to recognize the play calling and execution on offense is a lot better. 3 games in a row should be enough evidence no matter who the opponents were.

I can understand be hesitant though, being we haven't seen this type of balance and consistency since '07.

Well, that TCU victory did lose a lot of its luster over the weekend...

I think it's obvious that lsu is a contender. The team will certainly compete for the SEC crown this year. The problem is that we play some really good teams this year. We have to win 4/5 of ranked teams including Bama. I don't think the question should be if lsu is a contender, but are they the best team in the nation. That I don't know yet.

I don't think our defense is as good as Bama's and Florida, and our offense isn't as good as Georgia's or A&Ms. I do think however that we are the most balanced team in the SEC.

I'd say most LSU fans are timid of the expectations until after our game with Georgia. That game will answer your question.

As it was said earlier in this thread though, offensively even against crap teams last year we couldn't move the ball at times. We haven't had any issue this year.

I'd say our offense is very much improved but our defense isn't as good... yet...

I'm going to make the trip to State one year. I'd like to make a trip for a game to Mississippi where I don't see sorostitutes cursing out the opposing teams female fans like a sailor on shore leave.

Blowing out the teams they should. Look good on offense and LSU always has a good defense.

I agree, we still haven't had a test but last year we looked like hot garbage on offense against teams like Towson.

Did Lsu stop getting elite athletes and top 10 recruiting classes? What changed to make u think otherwise?

They lost to a top 10 team in a bowl that they really weren't motivated for. New life in the offense and Mett seems to be settled in. Defense is always stout. Yeah its gonna be a battle in Athens

Won't matter until we play Bama then A&M. We beat Auburn by 21 and people will say Auburn is bad. Beat Georgia by 17 and people will say Clemson beat them. Beat Bama by 14 and then people will Say oh wait on Johnny Heisman to show up and then we beat A&M by 21 and the media will say oh wait on Oregons offense to play them. Actually we will get some respect if we beat Bama.

It's annoying isn't it? That's what we had to deal with from '08 onward until the 2010 season

Does anyone think LSU and particularly their offense is as good as advertised?

I think LSU's offense is actually pretty good. Having a real running game and real deep passing game is a nice combination.

The dirty little secret is LSU's defense is still maturing and making a lot of mistakes... we'll see some more this coming weekend before the game @ UGA
