frickin cowards... I dont know which is worse, fielding a team every yeaf in the 1940s or making William Tecumseh Sherman president of your university.

Didn't you guys just replace your team with a bunch of klansman from the rally you all participated in before our game in 2009? I don't know how many times I got called racist names when I went out there...

You're lying... And the first amendment guarantees free speech... If a Klan leader, say for example former LA state senator , LSU grad and Metarie resident David Duke, wanted to hold a rally on LSU's campus it is his right to do so as long as he remains within the set aside free speech/protest areas of your campus... I don't like it at all... But if it doesn't break the law it's something we would just have to deal with.

The TAMU/LSU series has the same oddity. Most post war games were played in Red Stick until we built our third decks.

Only LSU hasn't had the luxury of "canceling" the series with Ole Miss when things didn't go their way.

I think the reason OM was willing to play all those games in Red Stick was because TS was bigger than theirs and the purse was split 50-50.

I know this was the reason for State playing in Baton Rouge all those years. Gate receipts were split 50/50. More money could be made playing in Baton Rouge. It's also the reason State played every game or "home" game against Auburn in Birmingham.

Mississippi State also played a majority of the series games in Baton Rouge. I guess LSU was giving money to both schools

also missed in this thread was Oxford was incredibly secluded back then. Best way to get here was via train even back to the 60's.
