I think it's partly this and the way that BDS is built. Notice that BDS, the Shoe, Happy Valley and the Big House never make these "loudest stadiums" list. It's not because these schools don't have crazy fans. It's just something about 100,000+ stadiums that dampens noise. That's a thing that you LSU and A&M fans should think about.

Wow you're dumb. BDS isn't loud because you wave Pom poms instead of clapping and yelling.

The fact that you think a youtube link is automatically my video is funny. Here, this one will help you out. Unfortunately there was no decimal reading at the game. This would have been one of the loudest moments in history.

Holy Crap! That is loud!

I guess being an obnoxious drunkard isn't always a bad thing.

Congratulations!

LSU fans, just curious. How do you rank the 2008 Bama game in terms of crowd noise?

Not really surprising...

I've only been to two away SEC games, but LSU's stadium is super loud.

I don't doubt that this is a factor, but at the same time there is just something about your fan base that is more boring and docile than other fans. IMO it's related to the baptist roots in alabama.

Well Alabama has a long history which in tern means we have a lot more OLD diehard fans. Sadly, part of this is because football has been the center of many peoples lives over the years because there not much else to do in Alabama (I'm from Tuscaloosa). Bama is a great family oriented place but I would say it lacks that edge and culture that breeds loud edgy fans. You won't find many strip clubs, swinger bars and any of that correlates with a racey lifestyle. It basically boils down to a culture thing. In general people in Alabama are a bit more reserved! Drives me crazy sometimes!! When I wanna visit the parents, fish, hunt, enjoy scenic views, parks and college football I go back to Tuscaloosa. When I wanna go to strip clubs, pick up hoe's, find a decent place to drink and mingle after 11pm I take my arse back to Atlanta.

It's just how it is.

I've been to all of the big ones in the SEC except UGA, aTm, and SC. I haven't personally experienced a stadium louder than some of the games I've been to at BDS.

No idea why the Swamp isn't included.
I used to take a trip to the Swamp every 2 years. The way the stadium sits isn't conducive to loud crowds for some reason. I mean they are loud but not REALLY loud. It's almost weird how it works. Also, I met Fred McGriff once outside the stadium.

I sat in the lower bowl on 11/5/11 and was so baffled. Why they would hand out pom poms for a huge game like that? Ditch the pom poms and BDS would be much louder!
