Did either of these teams decide to start playing defense in the off-season?

You obviously know nothing about football. Auburn's defense was paper thin last year, no depth at LB or D-line. We had a true freshman playing safety and lost 3 starters in the secondary through out the year. Savage, McNeil and Ethridge all were studs that we needed last year.

We've had no QB the past 2 years. Hopefully we will have a QB next year who can run the offense.

I'm actually pretty calm about this season. 10-11 wins and the world will keep on spinning

no but to just lump the defending NC in with the rest of the west might be a slight understatement don't you think?

LSU is not in decline, however, I'm only expecting a 7-8 win season

That would be a decline

New QB and meh defense... I'm not so sure

Miss. State will have a bowl eligible team next year.

See Auburn. They lost their best player on offense, too.

Ole Miss? Well, they lost a whole lot and will probably struggle next year.

Probably, but at least their defense will be solid

You mean the same one as last year or the one from two years ago?

You agree with me that Auburn sucked at defense last year, yet I know nothing about football?

You're an idiot.

Do most LSU fans consider this upcoming season a make or break for Les?

I agree that it is, but not for the reason most think.

LSU will be fine next year, and will have a great season.

Michigan, however, most likely will not. Couple that with the recently announced NCAA violations regarding practice time, and Rich Rod will most likely be fired at some point. I don't rule out an in-season firing.

Les Miles, with a good year, will probably be one of the top targets for Michigan. And I don't think he can walk away from the chance to coach at his beloved alma mater a second time.

So yes, I think Les Miles will leave LSU, but on his own terms.

The way you stated it was completely different from how I presented it. You said it as if Auburn had no talent on defense and couldn't possibly improve this year. We sucked due to depth not overall lack of talent.

Anyone that thinks Alabama's talent level is way ahead of LSU, or Auburn for that matter, you are smoking that good shite today

I think we're a good bit ahead of Auburn, but about even with LSU.

Definitely not. We're only going to get better. The next 5 years are going to be very fun. Not sure whats going happen after that.
5 years in, this is the chapter in the story where Saban's eyes start to wander... Dont be shocked if he leaves in the next couple of years.

I hope he does for LSUs sake. No better coach in the game imo. You can have Meyer, Ill take Saban over anyone.

I agree about Bammers talent not being way ahead of LSU, but they are a good bit more talented than Aubarn. The big difference is who they got developing their talent compared to who we got developing ours.

Absurd theory.. LSU still spits out 1st round talent into the draft to this day. We've had a couple of years of new QB play, and a poor OL last year, and all of a sudden we cant develop talent.. OK

And that has got us sqadoche and 2 painfully underachieving years, while Bammer has overachieved to reached the pinnacle with Saban.

What is absurd is that you think Mes is developing players to win at college football at the rate that Saban is. How high they go in the NFL draft hasn't really helped our team the last 2 years, and it implies that something is wrong with LSU to spit our 1st rounders and go 4-4 in conference and underachieve 2 straight years.

Because we're not starting a new QB? Is that too simple of an answer?

Because we have a returning QB.. And i think Saban is a better game day coach and his players seem more disciplined on the field, but i think players at LSU are still being developed.. Wow negatiger
