In order for LSU to challenge forppeanything, 2 things has to happen. I'm not sure if it will happen. Les Miles has to go the spread and get over the Alabama hump.
You can run effectively out of the spread. Fournette was the best back in the country. Les Miles ran him right into the strength of Alabama. Saban hates the spread but he knew he had to run to win. That is why he hired Kiffin.

LSU wasn't jack before Saban. Your beloved program isn't as good as it was 5 years ago. Chances are LSU is gonna be in the same boat in November 2016 as it was in November 2015. Trying to fire Les Miles but can't because of state officials.
