LSU is still pulling in top 5 talent, which makes them elite, but the results haven't been where they should be. Hence the reason the HC and OC were fired.

Now, the question is whether Orgeron is going to continue to get that same talent, and do more with it. Personally, I don't think so, but we will see.

I love the fact that a fan base brags about winning. Then making fun of a anthor team.

by your definition, who is considered Elite anymore. I can stroke your ego and say Alabama is elite but that is the same as saying the sky is blue. Ohio state just came back to top tier status. Michigan is improving but hasn't won anything. So who is elite?

Upvote for honesty. We are recruiting players well but we are not putting together a team on the field. And Bama is the gold standard for that. I do not think we will be competing for championships any time soon, but I want to at least be competitive in a game with Bama. And we were this year. It is a start.

You guys have been competitive with us the entire time. Most of our games with Les came down to late in the 4th quarter. The problem was you weren't beating everyone else like Arkansas and Auburn. You have had the talent to win 11-12 games per year with a top tier coach. But, Les only got you 8-9 wins the last 3 years. Not far off but far enough and it was time for him to go anyway. 10 years is a long time to be a HC in the SEC.

elite programs based on winning

Alabama
Ohio State
Clemson

I'm an LSU fan but they're only 3 truly elite teams! no other teams besides these 3 have made multiple playoffs

1 player difference versus the greatest recruiter in the history of the game. I'd say that's pretty elite.

If they weren't putting talent in the NFL like they are I might agree with you. But, they still have the most NFL players in the league and continue to put them out like a factory. It just takes the right coach and they will be competing for Championships with us in no time.

Logic.

We couldn't even get up for them this year. It shows how much they've fallen.

Elite NFL-producing talent stream with non-elite results.

Yep. It is true.

That's why everyone is so upset, because they should be AND LSU can be elite dropping one to Bama......losing to Wisky, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arky, UF, etc. is simply not elite.

I was only responding to the post that indicated LSU had the most NFL players, which now they do not.

edit: Miles was a great recruiter. LSU may eventually regret firing him. I don't know. It's not my problem.
