I can't wait til next Season. Chavis did not invent the LSU defensive tradition. He carried it forward SOME years. In others, our defense cost us contention (the year before last.)

As long as we finish ahead of aggy I figure it's a win! They're looking at a minimum of a 5 loss season and I'm thinking it'll probably be a 6 loss season. We should be able handle that even with our terrible QB's and horrible DC.

Totals don't matter though, only efficiency metrics. W/L's basically come down to Points per possession for offense and defense.

I would be worried about Kevin Steele's issues against the spread (which he's had at every stop in his career).

You're looking at A&M, Ole Miss, Miss State, and Auburn every year. He'd better figure it out.

A&M gave up 365 points last year compared to LSU's 228, which was the most in the west. and LSU's always been pretty good againts spread teams, most of the time when they lose it was because the other team was more physical. The best way to beat the spread is to have lockdown corners that you can count on in man to man to free up the rest of the defense. We've always had that.

Shocking the state of LA with only one P5 football program has been able to field good defenses with Saban and Chavis, two of the most respected defensive minds of all time....

If you're older than 15, you know things change.

I dunno. Third and Chavis is rightly maligned, but that's only one aspect in one fairly limited set of circumstances. Chavis did a great job of getting the entire defense working well, so I wouldn't get cocky just yet.

That might be the worst excuse I've heard from an aggie fan all year. I know you could do better than that
