Lamar Louis, I thought. Kwon is very solid. And I don't care if Beckwith lined up on the wrong side of the line of scrimmage, he should have been starting all year. The DL is not LSU caliber.

Cooper

LSU gave him cushion on one play and he scored.

Cooper was a non factor in the game. I think it really affected the game for Bama and Kiffin.

We kept singling him and running Man Under. Kiffin was freaking and kept trying to feed him the ball and/or exploit what the Bama gameplan considered a coverage mismatch. The drops hurt but to be honest, he wasn't dominating against White and Collins like he has against every other team.

When we didn't bracket and double, and Bama couldn't exploit, it did two things:

1.) Kiffin skewed playcalling to feed Cooper. Cooper did not make LSU pay. He was a non factor that took away from the offensive efficiency as a result.

2.) Bama went away from the run because of it and that really helped LSU get off the field. I think you guys were 5/13 on 3rd downs until the final drive. They kept getting behind schedule because of the passing game and feeding Cooper.

In a 20-13 overtime game, catching a pass and scoring with it is not a non-factor.

Ragland, of course.

Reuben Foster's hit on Fournette was clutch and sent a message that the Tide was going to win OT. It was a very timely hit even if he did lead with the crown of his helmet and there was no call ... wait, sorry. This thread is not about that.

But, seriously. It was a big hit.

Cameron Robinson played a great game on a bum ankle. Credit to him.

Landon Collins was so-so. He might have been great in pass coverage, though. I wouldn't know since our QB cannot complete a pass against anyone.

I was impressed with Blake Sims at the end. He was clutch after not playing that well and missing some open throws earlier in the game.

And, I was impressed with Lane Kiffin at the end. Not sure why he threw as much as he did, but he called it well at the end of the game.

This is not the best Alabama team that I have seen in the past 7 years, but they have heart and are fighting each week. All you need is a W at the end. They might just get it done.

Honestly, the way Sims lead Bama down the field in the 50 seconds. To have one drive to get it done, and the OT session, he was the general.

Ragland

I remember watching his highlight tape when he was coming out of HS and thinking, "damn, I am not looking forward to playing this guy for the next few years." He was very, very impressive on 11/8.

Ritter for sure.

I like his throwing motion.

Flag came out quick and didn't get tied up in the pocket like some guys have trouble with.

He had good field presence as well.

I understand this is for the chuckles but only 5 flags were thrown the whole game.

I saw a great deal of very young, talented future and current stars... On both sides...
Depending on who Bama loses to the draft the game in Tuscaloosa next year might look like '11

Mini nfl combine.

Ragland brought the wood every play. he was awfully, awfully impressive and could turn out to be one of the best under saban's tenure.

Reed just clogged shite up like a overflown toilet. He presented most if not all of the issues up front and was directly responsible for limiting the running to like what...3.4 yards per carry? Getting 180 yards on 56 carries is not a good stat, especially if you're aiming to bludgeon your opponent to death. A few 7-8 yard runs with alot of plays being made at or behind the LOS.

Collins is what a physical safety should be, someone that's not afraid to come up and hit a RB and also provide adequate coverage. We didn't challenge him mucn in the passing game, but when we actually did, he was there to make a play. (One was a two man route with a post and drag with Dural and Quinn which was defended perfectly).

Eddie Jackson is your best corner, period. You see why LSU wanted him that badly a few recruiting cycles ago.

Derrick Henry runs too high, IMO.

For LSU...

You see why there was a huge *GASP* in the air when Beckwith went out and Welter was inserted. We all had visions of Yeldon/Henry going absolute apeshit on Welter with a run up the middle with Welter being occupied with a non-existent block. Beckwith is a difference maker and has the potential to be better than any MLB Chavis has ever coached.

Tre White is a true shutdown CB, but a mediocre punt returner. On one of Hunter's tipped passes, I believe White was in position to pick it off and possibly run it back for 6 had it not been tipped. The WR ran a slant and White completely beat him to the spot where the pass would have been. But, he's a mediocre kick returner, IMO. His decisions back there really vex me sometimes, to be honest.

Really lots of young, young talent on both sides, but I have to like what was shown by LSU's youth. We are going to get better, and the turnaround on defense will only get nastier.

Now only if we had a QB on the roster to have a competent passing game. Oh wait, we already do, i hear? Hmm...

I was very impressed with Beckwith and could noticed a difference when he was hurt for those few plays.

Honestly it had to be Ragland, or whatever his name is. Number 19 for sure. Went to the game with the old man and that all we talked about how he was plugging holes and shedding blocks. really really sound player.

Based on comments from Bama fans, Blake Sims impressed me the most. Before the game they were pretty down on him. That final drive in regulation was incredible. Props to him.

For LSU : I didn't notice White on the corner and that is because he was locking people down the entire game. Beckwith was all over the field. While I felt good about how we played your run game, your backs are really good. Guys don't run through our LB's in a power-I game for 5-6 yards every few plays like they did. Dupree has great body control.

LSU has some serious young talent. As usual. Should continue being a war.

yep, that drive was mccarron-esque.

As bad as Sims can play, he's still light years ahead of what Jennings is.
