Pete did his thing in an era where the rules weren't catered to the offensive player. It was much tougher to score 30 a game not to mention keeping a higher per game average.
That's the biggest difference between the two, which makes his accomplishments all the greater to me. Clark may not be the best women's player ever but she will be the best scorer in the women's game ever.
Pistols record will stand the test of time no matter, hers will too.

She's simply the better player, and she makes her team better.
Maravich was a ball hog who took about 60 shots a game. Three years as the leading scorer in the country and couldn't even get into an NCAA tournament.

Completely different Era’s Pistol set his record in 83 varsity games with a 44.2pt per game a avg.
Add the 741 pts he had as a freshmen
In 19 games he’s at 4,408pts for 43.2 PPG.
Clark has played in 47 games more
