so then they should cancel the game so the Florida players and coaches can focus on their residences / families - i believe they will make that decision tomorrow.

Was new Orleans good to go the day after Katrina? Tuscaloosa the day after the tornadoes? Columbia, SC after last year's floods?

I can't imagine you are totally ignorant to the lingering effects of a major weather event. I just can't.

I read that LSU is flying into Tampa tomorrow- is that not true?

They should be fine getting to Gainesville if that's the case.

We'll see y'all on Saturday

If it looks like something of that scale, they will cancel the game...

Is this really so hard to understand?

The fact that LSU fans won't be able to fly in doesn't have any pull on the game dumbass

Your fans and administration are the ones who will come out looking like dumbasses when this is all over.

Says the guy who doesn't understand why we can't play in Tampa. When USF has a home game there at noon.

Yet FSU and Miami figured it out. Poor UF.

Hope so for some reason they seemed dead set on Friday assumed some obscure rule. Wonder if LSU will get in practice.

That's the PROBLEM. They're keeping the game in a position to get cancelled.

Yes, it is. It gets bigger as the cone goes out because the ability to predict the location of the eye is reduced the more into the future it goes. The cone is a summary of all the projections of the path of the storm.

Do you really think the cone is the entire storm affected area? It's fricking tiny right by the current location. How does that work?

The 8 p.m. advisory from the National Hurricane Center, which said the storm had weakened slightly to winds of 115 mph, placed the central Florida coast near the center of the cone of possibilities for the storm's core

New Orleans and the whole state of Louisiana did not know how to handle a hurricane. Florida does.

The tornados in Tuscaloosa were a sudden and terrible disaster, but they hit directly on Tuscaloosa, not 100+ miles away.

The floods in South Carolina were again due to poor infrastructure and not knowing how to handle that kind of weather event.

Florida knows how to handle hurricanes people. It's not the first time a big storm is coming towards the state.

Reality: Gainesville is outside of the cone of the storm. They will certainly get bands of this and strong wind, but Gainesville is far enough away to not be at risk of major damage to campus.

it appears you haven't really seen the models for the storms tracking.one of them smacks gainsville head on.

sure, it probably won't do that but you damn sure don't know shite about hurricanes and that's obvious.
