It embarrasses me that he's the best the SEC could come up with.

It is the Jerry springer show at best. AL should be ashamed to have him as their voice.

Except now he will be on ESPN radio stations all over the country and doing his show live on the SEC Network. Callers from all over the country will get air time, exposing anyone with a phone from the swamps of Louisiana.

Well maybe you don't have cable tv over there in Bama but there are at least 10 shows that show the swamp people from Louisiana and now most are all millionaires.

Anyone who says and believes this is IMO a moron.

Finebaum's a pretty giant moron. The only reason he is popular is because he says ridiculous shite to get ratings and blows Alabama's dick because he's in that state.

The fact that ESPN thinks he deserves this job is laughable. I don't care if he bashes LSU at all, I just care that he is the face of the SEC for the ocountry and is a complete dumbass. He also looks like a fricking weasel and comes across like a typical Southern fool.

Everyone in the SEC should be worried that he is our face on ESPN now. (If he actually is, no telling exactly how they'll use him on the main ESPN channel)

This. I'm pretty sure his analysis on a national media outlet covering the whole conference will have to be much more balanced than his rants to get people to listen to his show.

it should bother everyone that that cocksucker is in any media capacity outside his little bama/auburn wormhole.

I haven't seen where his show will be the voice of the SEC, so just curious as to where that has been documented. Not questioning the validity of it, just have not seen that. And since ESPN's contract is with the league, I cann't see even a Birmingham based league office putting up with its national tv voice consistently bashing one of it premier members. I've never caught him live on his former show, but have heard enough from fans from bama, auburn, LSU, etc here on the Rant to know he is a Jerry Springer clone on it. However, I've heard him a few times on national affiliates & he came across as rational & decently informative. I cann't believe that ESPN or league officials will let him continue with all his negativism, especially against one coach/team. But then, I am sure that the league official in charge of the contract is a bama alum.

He is ok as a radio guy but that's about it. He makes a living being a smartass and is biased about Bama and doesn't even try to hide it. Of course the Bama fans eat it up - why wouldn't they?

But to say he's worthy of attracting a national audience and makes the SEC look professional in the process, well that's a different story.

We catch enough flack being from the south and the stereotypes that we're all a bunch of uneducated hicks. Paul Finebaum does nothing to prove that wrong, which is why I say he's a poor choice to be labeled ESPN's "face of the SEC", if that's true at all.

No bother at all. Finebaum is the voice of ALABAMA, not the SEC. He is no more knowledgeable about SEC athletics than anyone else. He is well known only because he pits BAMA and AUBURN fans against each other and makes fun of the rest of the SEC. His main focus is RATINGS and nothing else. (kind of like the Bill O'Reilly of sports). ESPN is making a big mistake in putting him in this position. FINEBAUM is a BUFFOON.

Finebaum will now have the biggest bully pulpit in the world to express his views. He will be the go-to sports personality on ESPN when any SEC team is discussed. Put simply, he is now the voice of the SEC to the nation. How does this make you feel?

Don't really care what he thinks about LSU and Miles, but it's kind of embarrassing for the conference that he got the gig.

don't listen or watch that dumb redneck and never will...

The few times i tried to listen i could barely understand what the callers were saying with their hillbilly accents. All Finebaum will do is make the sec look even more uneducated like the bama fans.

I could never/will ever care about anything that spews from the dregs that we call the state of Alabama.
