If it really is just a matter of leaving talented players at a school and letting another guy pick up where you left off, why did 2012 Arkansas suck so bad? Their 2011 team was talented and most of that talent was still there last season.

Their talent compared to LSU and Alabama's is totally irrelevant. They went 11-2. A guy left enough talent that went 11-2 the year before to another guy. Why did they go 4-8?

Its obvious that your not grasping the entirety of the answer. BMFP made the difference on that team, not talent, that's obvious. Les miles won a championship off sabans players. So in turn the talent is what is making Les look good.

Petrino is a shitty recruiter, neglects his defenses, doesn't give a single frick about anything he, his assistants, or his players do when they aren't on a football field, and always leaves his employer in a complete shitstorm when he leaves. He is just such a brilliant playcaller/strategist that he is able to make up for all of these deficiencies. Comparing him to Saban, or even Miles for that matter, in the "program building" department is just laughable.
