Geographically lsu is at a disadvantage for traveling. You will see the same challenges for Missouri and ATM long term when they start going to the same bowls. You need new locations to create an excitement in traveling. We also spent bowl type money for the game in dallas this Year.

It's surprising how well teams like bama travel then You realize the are within 5 hours of almost all conference games and most bowl games. Same with some of the more centralized schools. Those schools have day games to many more venues throughout the year where we have weekend stays for games. I will agree with the post that our fans have weakened for the less marquise games. I attribute it some to the push for more out of state students who are less die hard and loyal. I have family that attended bama and they said there is a distinct difference in the in staters versus out of state students and alum as well. I do think fan bases get spoiled and the ability to watch on tv has hurt attendance.

With all that said ole miss fans sure are experts on traveling to bowls.

The out-of-state excuse for LSU is laughable, considering more students enrolled at Alabama aren't from the state.

I will say though, that as a student, traveling was much, much easier being in the location we are in. Every road game besides Arkansas and Florida was a 5 hour or less trip. Considering I never had an inkling in my mind to travel to spend 7 hours in a car to travel to the Ozarks, every road trip I took got me back well in time for class on Monday.

Did you watch the game? LSU fans were smart.

LSU just has to run the ball for a win and run the clock out. Les opts for three straight passes with an RB averaging 10+ per carry and 100+ yards.

The out of state isn't an excuse for why it should happen its a fact dor why it does happen. Historically lsu has been predominantly in state and now they are recruiting a lot more out if state for academic reasons. I know bama does as well the difference is bama is more national. You also have a ton of instate residents who are huge fans figuratively and literary supporters of the program. It also is a function of Baton Rouge growing as a town and getting a lot more transplants who want tickets but aren't committed to the program. It drives up demand and pricing but not necessarily loyalty to the brand. Schools toward the middle geographically will always have and advantage travel wise. And when you go to 5 bowls in 12 years like ole miss you have plenty of reasons to want to see a bowl game. It could be the last for a while. Joking aside I think thu will be good for a while but just had to throw it out there

Don't worry A&M will pick up LSU's clack this year by selling out the allotment plus and of course actually winning vs the ACC
You are right. A&M has better fans, better traditions, and better academics. But at the end of the day daddy whips their arse in football. Which is the only thing that matters and it eats at you like a tick on a dog.

who said we wouldn't go to florida?

Perhaps he meant the Florida game this year when you didn't go in your own stadium? Or if he is talking about the bowl game coming up, perhaps the slow ticket sales is the indicator?

So an extension of an LSU board, read by and posted on by more LSU fans than the 13 other schools combined, has people that don't like when others says negative things about LSU?
