I agree.

Jennings is hot garbage.

I'm not going to say this yet even though he looked bad in his one start last year against Iowa. I definitely think Harris has the higher ceiling though.

Not true at all.

The reality is that if the competition is close enough that you can discern which qb is better, then you're better off picking one and allowing him to establish a rapport and rhythm with the offense

We got to 2 national title games with a 2-QB system of sorts in both scenarios. I think our coaches know what they're doing.

Plugging in a new qb every few drives is a great way to slow the evolution of your offense over the course of a season

It's unfortunate Wisconsin is the first game but our next 2 games are Sam Houston State and UL-Monroe which gives us plenty of time to decide who will be the primary starter before conference pay starts up.

quote:

If that's what they plan to do, then I don't think we're going to have that much trouble stopping their offense

Our offense isnt QB dependent nor has it ever been under Miles. We return one of the best OLs in the nation and some backs who will make you pay big time. Go ahead and load up 8 or 9 in the box, that happened to Jefferson/Lee LSU teams every game and we still raped teams on the ground.

Landisch and Herring will be in their backfield all night so it probably won't matter at the end of the day.

Wisconsin's defense looks laughably bad this upcoming season. I wouldn't bank on this at all. I've never even heard of these guys.

Having any sort of faith in your "defense" is anything but rational.

Also, FWIW IMO as long as Cam Cameron is the OC at LSU, I personally think it doesn't really matter who the QB is as long as he doesn't turn the ball over...I trust that LSU will always have a productive/competent offense with Cameron leading it.

Landisch 6'0 231 1 sack in 2013

Does not compute....

It's not the ideal situation. But, I'll trust the coaches. I think there are things the coaches like about both players and they want to make a final decision by seeing them play with the lights on.

You know nothing about LSU football then! You will have major problems stopping LSU even if we don't throw the ball once son. Fact! Ask any team in the SEC if a verterans LSU line is tough to deal with. Watch out if our Dline performs at a high level. Might shut y'all out, meaning no TDs!

Well you've yet to play these kind of teams with the two untested QBs you plan on switching out, which is kind of the purpose of this thread.

Which is exactly what we'll be doing to them as well.

Should be a good one

Yeah...Jefferson-Lee worked wonders.
Y'know, while everyone complains heavily about that period, go back and look at the won/loss record. Ain't too shabby.

I think the defense will be back up to par this season, and the running game might be better. Wisconsin should be a good test, but I'm looking forward to a solid win.

We've done alright with two worse QB's, on teams that were worse, with worse offensive coaching.

If they split time evenly against Wisconsin, that would suggest neither of them has quite mastered all the skills Cam demands of them, and that's okay.

It's like people fail to realize just 3 years ago LSU was involved in one of the biggest smash mouth, line of scrimmage, physical games in the history of football c'mon people. LSU has and always will live or die off superior line play and super physical football. Badgers may have a chance, but it's a small one.

It's not a 2 QB system. This is a formality.

The Wisconsin defense doesn't scare me at all. If our offense has any kind of pulse they'll perform well enough to not lose the game.

Quite honestly, I'm more worried about our defensive line with a game like this in week 1 than I am about young quarterbacks.

Silence ahhhh exactly what whisky fans will sound like next weekend. I hope your team comes into this game thinking Les can't coach, our team is too young, y'all's Oline will dominate our Dline, your back is untouchable and Wisconsin will run right over LSU going to be hurt in many ways if this happens. Ask Oregon, they thought they were going to fly up and down the field all night they really were pumped up and thought LSU was short a QB and JL lit them up. Harris is at least 3 times better, and Jennings is better then Jefferson so..... Our D will be pretty good, I hope y'all's Oline is as good as everyone says they are. Our corners are much bigger then they were a year ago and now know the system that much better. Our line backers are as talented as it gets & now know the system. They said the other day last year they had trouble in coverage but this year they are much better and understand where they have to be in coverage and playing at full speed. Good luck to you good sir
