Because they have already convinced themselves that hiring Jimbo Fisher will bring them a championship and infinite wins over Alabama. The fact that we (and even some of their own fans) disagree and think they are nuts, makes them FURIOUS!!!!!!!! And it is awesome.

Not all LSU fans are happy, but I suspect they will come around if LSU starts hanging points on Alabama.

Take it from a die hard alum and this is the truth. I'm nervous as frick before every LSU game since Miles has been there. Never nervous before any other game. Any rational fan will agree. I think LSU needs more time, prepartion, and luck before they try and hire a true juggernaut. There may not be a juggernaut out there for a while either. After Saban I just hope we win one Nattie a decade at least, until the next Bear quality coach shows up. What y'all want just isn't out there right now. We were very fortunate to land Saban. You gotta have balls like Mal to pull that off. LSU ain't got it.

I appreciate the honest answer. And I can understand your position on playing LSU. However, I feel the opposite as an LSU fan. I admire the degree of preparation and discipline I see on the Alabama side of the ball. The killer instinct. I love Les Miles as a person, but he is lacking as a head coach. He loves his players but does not instill in them the discipline necessary to be consistent winners. He is also unable to see that talent alone does not win in the SEC. He is not innovative. Stubborn to a fault.

I'm keeping it honest on this as well.
Why doesn't LSU keep Miles and fire all the major coordinators. Keep O for recruiting and clean most of the house. Get a badass o coordinator and a sick D coordinator and steal some position coaches that can recruit. That's what I would want first if I were an LSU fan.

Because the problem lies solely with Les and his approach to player development. This will be hard to articulate in a post, but he loves his players too much. He is more of a father than a coach. He needs to establish a degree of discipline in them and he simply does not. He relies on sheer emotion (a good thing - but not the only thing). You can literally see it on the field. Too up and down. Too many mental breakdowns. All of it comes back to him.
Trust me, I am a professional Army officer (thirty plus years and counting). It is hard to establish and consistently enforce that degree of discipline. Few have that skill (CNS is one of them). I love Les but he will never have it. He wins because his players are better than most he faces. Until he faces a team of equal talent that is more disciplined than his. Then they lose. And they are losing even more badly now than ever before.

A new DC would help, but this is the 3rd OC hire Miels has made. At this point either he doesn't give them control or he just doesn't make good OC hires.

Why? LSU could solve 2/3 of their offense with a real QB. They knew Harris was their only option. Yall have to run well to win. Les needs a sick o coordinator with no leash. The proper o coordinator would attrack a real QB. Can't attrack a qb when everyone knows y'all been running the ball since 1959.

Yeah he doesn't have that "bad arse" factor like Nick. But some do and they're not good either. Pete Carroll is a locker room pussy and wins. I do prefer a coach that gets players fired up over too relaxed. Urban seems too relaxed too. Harbaugh is a badass. Gruden was a badass too.

It is a fine line. And it is very hard to maintain. CNS is a master at it. And it took him years to develop and refine the skill. His players hold him in tremendous respect and it shows. They do not want to let him down. And they also have the tradition of winning at Alabama. A very powerful combination.
Les Miles is seen as (again - hard to articulate) as more of a peer/friend rather than a leader/mentor. If you are winning that is an okay situation to be in. It can work. But if you are losing (and losing badly) it is an absolute recipe for disaster. And that is where we are.

that excuse is fun for the first 3 years you are in a place
after that you have had 4 years to find a good qb
you should HAVE to start a sophomore in your 11th year if he isn't good. You should have someone there to take the reigns.
Thats part of Bama success. They don't have the greatest QBs, but they have never had someone younger than 3 years out of High School take the reigns. (except Bateman who was immediately benched and y'all lost that game)
