Hallman's win against BAMA won him an additional year at LSU. That alone makes this win bitter...

And that in itself provoked a lot of suicidle thoughts.

No shite.

I will say I like him now, but that a-hole pissed me off during the 90's. I mean I was rustled.

LSU had no business beating Bama that day, no biz

We had several starters out with injury and I believe Barker was either injured in that game or came into the game injured. Either way...David Palmer - a wide receiver - ended up quarterbacking the Tide offense in the 2nd half of that game.

Lots of selective memory up in here

Bergdorf played QB for Bama. Replaced with Freddie Kitchens midway in the 3rd. Stallings had used Palmer at QB a lot that year already. When LSU went up 14-0 then Palmer played QB and was the reason Bama got back in the game

Not taking anything away from the UF win but....LSU went 11-17 in the next 28 games. Don't see how that was a program changer. Great one game win but frankly Dinardo and the team went down the tubes afterward.

So for all of that I was more satisfied with winning at Bama stopping their 31 game unbeaten streak- fwiw

Please forgive me. I was 6 years old when that game was played.

I remember that game. Our QB Doug Johnson partied like JFF that week and got benched by Spurrier.

That's right, he and Jesse Palmer... I forgot..... Was thinking Danny was still there. Ok, maybe Florida wasn't as epically great as I thought. Georgia curbed stomped them that year too.

that was a high quality Florida team but they probably had a little lost focus coming off their 96 championship... having said that they finished with only two losses and did beat 11-1 FSU, 11-2 Tennessee, 10-3 Auburn, and 9-3 PSU

by comparison I just don't think that was really all that great of an Alabama team. LSU still didn't have any business beating them but they usually play Bama better @ Bama and Bama probably wasn't as excited to play that LSU team as LSU was to knock off a team coming off a NC

28-21 wasn't that the score of the 97 UF game? I have always hated UF, my Hate for Bama does not compare!

Since I didn't follow college football closely till the 94 Arky game, and more so the 95 season, I will go with 97 UF. I remember tossing my crutches to side and hopping around on one foot in my basement. Did enjoy watching the replay of the Bama win a month ago or so.

Honestly, beating '97 FLA put us on the cover of SI. The bama game didn't. And print media still mattered back then.

Both were great, but beating Florida was the first time we beat a#1 team I think. It was fricking huge.
