Oh, Sumlin played LB in college
This really isn't relevant. His assistant experience is on offense and it's clearly his strength. We know we need a strong DC to compliment him and we intend on getting one this offseason.
How do y'all plan on fixing your offense and finding an identity?

Miles was on the offensive line, so that's one of the reasons why he wants to run more then pass. He's offensive schemes or outdated and lack creativity. He can only win with superior talent.

Wait what? Is 2012 Notre Dame also considered in this group?
WTeverlovingF does this even mean ?????
LSU outscored 9 bowl teams, including 3 Top 3 opponents and 5 Top 10 opponents - 500-123 in 2011.
If not for media bias, LSU would have played (and probably beaten) Okie State. Instead, we were penalized for having to play a team we had already beaten on the road - a 3rd place SEC team.
My questions:
(1) Why even """"""""" P L A Y """"""""" an SEC Championship game that year ??????????????
(2) Why did Michigan not get a "do-over" against Ohio State in the 2007 NC game ??????????????

We're not talking about A&M. We're talking about Les/LSU and his ability to waste talent.quote:

So let's talk about UGA, USC, and Oklahoma's crystal balls?
Posted on 11/25/14 at 10:40 am to MetryTyger
Why didn't you just beat Alabama a second time? 01 Miami, 95 Nebraska or 04 USC would have done that. That's why they are among the greatest teams in college history. 11 LSU is just a team that got stomped in the national championship game, similar to 12 Notre Dame

Yeah, don't talk about the team your team is playing this week!

Shane and TexAg, are the 2 most loyal LSU followers on the SEC Rant. The support is well appreciated.

You're sixth in the SEC in rushing YPG. 11th in YPC. So basically you're mediocre at your identity

That 2011 team ended the SECs unbeaten national championship record

How does anyone in their right mind NOT question his abilities?
The ridiculous part is that, a few specific years aside, the guy has won so much that he's become LSU's most winningest coach, has beaten more MNC winning coaches than anyone I can think of, won his own MNC in '07 and had arguably one of the best CFB teams of all time in '11 that probably should have won his second MNC had he not had to play Bama twice in the same season. And he's beaten Saban as much as anyone, if not more.
On top of all that, he may literally be an actual moron. So go figure...

When y'all step your game up on defense, come talk to use about offense. Maybe the two teams can do some trade offs to even things up.

So the only reason why it's looked decent in the past was because Miles offenses pad their stats against weak defenses? Wow, worse than I thought.

Sumlins coaching experience is all on offense.
Considering that he was once a linebacker, he should know what a good defense looks like.

We're not talking about A&M. We're talking about Les/LSU and his ability to waste talent.
Yes let's talk about that 'ability' shall we ???
Miles has lost SEVENTEEN players, including some who were underclassmen, to the NFL in the last two years.
LSU has more players in the NFL currently and has produced more NFL players in the past decade than any other team. Many of them are not only starting, but starring.
We lost a 3000-yard passer, 2 1000-yard receivers, and a 1000-yard rusher from last year's team, yet we are one trapped ball that wasn't reviewed away from being 8-2, with a freshman QB and major injuries.
We had two pro-style passers who decided to transfer: one to Rutgers and one to Vandy.
Our defense is one of the best in the country since the Auburn game.
It was clearly a rebuilding year on offense.
But we're wasting talent. Gotcha.
As Scrooge told Cratchit 'I'll retired to bedlam.'

Why do you keep trying to talk about our defense? Start your own thread if you want to talk about it. You still haven't provided any reasoning or fix for the obvious problem with the LSU football program

quote:One problem LSU doesn't have is beaten a&m; shitty offense or not. You don't lose all the talent on O that LSU lost and just bounce back that quickly. Finding a good QB is key moving forward. Saying that, our shitty O will find ways to score enough points to beat a&m. Maybe y'all SHOULD worry more about your D than our O.
