Thought that was being offered to Brick?

Put O and Steele together and you have at the least a strong recruiting team, something LSU DOES, believe it or not, need. I expect--hope--we'll see more of Bama-type quality overall in terms of the defensive recruits we get … that comes first imo … then we'll worry about the x-and-o/coach 'em up stuff.

Interesting results. I'm surprised at the number of upvotes considering the response to Steele. I think we can assume a few of the down votes are not Lsu fans too

Yes.

Steele has a year to prove himself. LSU was stuck between a rock and a hard place with the timing of the Chavis' departure. Orgeron is a huge boost up front with recruiting and coaching. I think we made the best of a shitty situation.

It makes me feel a little better.

Coach O -DL MAJOR upgrade in coaching/Recruiting

Steele- LB/DC - push as far as position coaching/but significant downgrade as coordinator duties for what we know at this time/MAJOR upgrade as recruiter

Add this to Raymond who is a damn good recruiter/coach

It's just gonna all hinge on the scheme and the gameday coaching for how successful this will make the defense

If nothing else, there will be a ton of talent on hand for chip Kelly to coach in a couple years.

Probably the usual aggy suspects.

ehhh, wash. Our front 7 recruiting hasn't been good lately (look at our current class 1 commit from front 7) and the fence needs fixing, so from a recruiting standpoint we are worlds better. I can't help but feel from an X's and O's perspective we are much worse.

Idk.

If I see 55-70 PTs scored on us in one game, I'd say no.

I'm interested to see if we go 3-4. Personally, I'm not a fan of it.

Chavis was way overrated X's and O's wise. If you look past stats (which are inflated by our ball control offensive philosophy and top notch personnel) our defense was on the decline the last two years. Chavis' strategy was to line up and beat your guy. This strategy worked great until we started losing 8 starters a year to the NFL. Chavis' D was repeatedly exposed in big moments. Watch the damn games.
