SEC teams play another conference game instead of the Georgia State's of the world thus helping their SOS and getting them in the playoffs

I don't think an SEC team will have to worry about SOS if they win out. Another game against the SEC when every other contender is playing the 1 other good school in their conference isn't gonna help us.

It will make it MORE likely the OOC games suck arse b/c schools will simply say there conference schedule is too tough to warrant playing good OOC teams.

False. They aren't going to stop scheduling premiere OOC matchups, especially when other conferences with nine games are still doing it. That's just a knee jerk reaction. When push comes to shove no AD is going to stop scheduling good OOC games. The boosters won't allow it.

What's disappointing is that our fans are just going to blame all of this on Alleva when he's just being Les' mouthpiece. If Les didn't have an issue with the schedule he would already told Alleva to just drop the subject.

I'd say LSU is fighting more for a balanced schedule for both.

I get both sides of the issue really. Florida is a fun "name" to play, but what really sucks is that I hate Gainesville. That is why I wouldn't be mad about a schedule rotation, but also I dont want Les and company to look like pussies

Because we had the balls to play a round robin.

We were guaranteed an extra loss.

You in the SEC...schedule 4 Mother of Mary sisters of the poor home games...then play half of your schedule with the dregs of the conference...Kentucky, Moo State, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss...

And come out with two tough games a year...

And claim..."We play in the SEC! Every week is a grind!"

Really?

It's a grind against Tennessee-Chattanooga, the Citadel, Louisiana-Monroe, Troy State...Kentucky, Vandy, UT (now), Moo State?

That's 8 games! What a grind!

SEC has always had a 4 game schedule.

While the Pac-10 played everyone and scheduled real tough OOC teams to supplement the rest...and make up for playing Wazzu etc. and Cal in bad years.

SEC has always had the most rigged fraud of a schedule...in terms of perception vs. reality.

There never has been a grind...week in and week out - you can't lose half your games and for the top teams you can't lose but maybe 2-3 games...the rest are gimmies.

...the Pac-10

All I know is, when LSU plays a Pac whatever team...ya'll have changed your name like four times lol...I go place a bet on LSU to win. It's automatic.

LSU is 15-3 all time vs the Pac-whatever-you-call-yourselves-at-the-time. Haven't lost to a fricken Pac-whosis team since 1979. 13 straight wins vs teams from the Pac since. Over a 35 year period.

BTW, The Mountain West Conference called, and they want to play you guys some more. They love beating you for some reason.

The Pac...please just go away. The big boys are talking here.

Edit: LSU is also 5-1 vs Colorado and 2-0 vs Utah all-time. So no help for you there, either.

Exactly, at least Alleva has the balls to say he wants this because it removes a tough opponent every year. He's not hiding at all, unlike some coaches who need to bring up cigarettes and sickle-cell to mask their bullshite.

I dont think one LSU fan has said this, nor has alleva. frick give me uga as a perma, they actually beat us this year. It is more about having a rotation and the chance of playing at every sec venue when you are a player, not getting an away trip to knoxville every 12 years

Doesn't matter what anyone else says, Alleva is right.

Or, in the vein of competitive balance, Lsu should only be allowed to sign X number of Div 1 recruits from their own state. I mean, it's about being fair, right? .

Stupid argument. Irrelevant to a discussion about schedules.

Yeah, no, LSU isn't fighting to keep a dogshit program on their schedule permanently, or to get a a dogshit program on their schedule permanently.

Alabama needs an easy route to Atlanta. They'd be bitching just as loud if Tennessee was the best team in the east over the past 6 years.

I don't understand how Bama fans can stand behind Saban trying to fix what he believes is unfair (don't give me that health issue BS), and then turn around and act like this in this thread. Is it blind allegiance? Stupidity? I guess that's why I'm not a Bama fan...

I'm not a Bama fan and I think the scheduling complaints from the LSU faction have long since crossed into ridiculousness. Sure, Bama fans can whine, but LSU fans are just as bad, if not worse. The hypocrisy of Bama fans is matched quite well by LSU fans trolling Bama and then getting their panties in a wad when they get trolled back. You just don't see it because, well, you're an LSU fan.

Alleva is fighting the good fight, but he's finally realizing that certain schools don't care about completive balance. he's correct that it's a shortsighted position for them to take but there's only so much you can do when dealing with ignorance.
Joe is still beating that drum though - he's doing work. At the end of the day, majority rules.

I don't remember Bama fans bitching from 1994- 2006 when UT beat us all but 2 or 3 years.
