This is true most likely but their called bridge schedules for a reason. With the addition of 2 teams the scheduling model got kinda messed up so they neede dto just have a makeshift one until they could adopt a more permanent one.
The 9 game schedule solves as much of the scheduling quirks as you possibly can and perserves the rivalries.
As long as you play some teams and not others, the possibility always exists you may get an easier or harder schedule, particularly with programs quality so in flux too. It's just part of the game.

Alleva is a gaping pussy. The weird thing is, LSU fans know it, but nobody else is allowed to say it .
It's gonna be tough getting that hook out.

why did they get such sandy vaginas here in the past few years?
Nick Saban at Bama, 21-0, Bama winning 3 BCSNCs, Bama winning 3 in a row vs LSU and LSU's decline is what has sparked their sandy vag's . Looking to blame their misfortunes on something other than than themselves. They were the top dog for the first time in their history in the SEC and a Nick Saban led Bama knocked them the frick of the top of the hill.

Alleva doesn't give a shite about rivalries. He's not voting for 9 games.

The Bama response is to call LSU whiners. The kind of response you'd expect from a side without a legitimate point.

im tired of watching Tennessee Chattanooga and western Carolina or the citadel for that matter those type games suck and the extra SEC game would sell more tickets, concessions and the like.
Adding a 9th SEC game is NOT going to get rid of those.
Why can't people understand this?
The only way to get rid of FCS games is for the SEC to ban everyone from doing it.

I personally think that we should all take 10 seconds or so here to really think about this. No need to hurry things up. Here's my main point:
A 9 game conference schedule doesn't give the 2nd and 3rd team players a chance to play, which means that the starters will be in more. This is not good for player safety. Another hard nosed game to add to an already brutal conference will seriously put kid's in danger.

8 sec games is already dangerous, you add a 9th game, that increases the chance of player injuries.

i don't care if we expand or if we get rid of permanent rivals. we need at lest 2 rotating cross divisional games.
Pros of a 9 Game SEC schedule:
Traditional rivalries continue
MOre SEC football
Cons:
Another game against quality opponents that hurts SEC teams chances of making a playoff. It normally won't happen, but there would be years it will.

Pros:
SEC teams play another conference game instead of the Georgia State's of the world thus helping their SOS and getting them in the playoffs

Ignoring the obvious troll, I actually do kind of agree with the point that an extra gimme is nice, at least for the top dogs, because it gives them a chance to play players who would normally see very little, if any, time on the field, and then always in mop-up duty. It's probably the only compelling reason I've seen thus far to stick with 8 games (not that the people I've been discussing it with haven't presented good arguments, just that they weren't compelling enough for me not to offer a counterargument.)

According to the report, Alleva doesn't want a nine-game SEC schedule.
"That means seven more losses for certain teams," he said.
Rigged scheduling pussies. Play barely half your conference and then schedule 4 directional rent-a-wins. Look what an awesome record we have in the SEC!
For years the Pac-10 played a 9-game conference schedule.

LSU is fighting just as hard to get an easier schedule as Alabama is fighting to keep an easy schedule
