Do you disagree with that? I'm really curious as to what was do funny because nowhere did it say anything about winning any of the games. There was actually a great deal of sarcasm involved. But still, show me a 14-17 team from a power conference with anything near a road like that.

Grant gets one more year though
yes, he will get one more year. The impression I get with him is he is laughing all the way to the bank. His teams play solid defense though...

He'd be laughing harder if he got fired

I think Battle will give him one more year

did you not watch the game? nearly every bama possession ended with free throws. LSU shot like 7 total, bama had 20+

Oh he'll be back, there's no question about it. Most of the big money guys still support him so it's not even a decision really for Battle. I was just saying that with his buyout, Grant can laugh all the way to the bank regardless.

yes, Financially he was very wise taking the Alabama job. Think the AD overpaid him, but he was considered by most to be a slam dunk hire. Heck, most LSU fans wanted him in Baton Rouge. Will be interesting to see were he lands post Bama. Maybe back in Gainesville as an assistant for a year or two??

I don't think he got overpaid, obviously that's easy to say in hindsight, but he might have been the hottest young coach in the country when we got him. But yes, he'll end up back at Florida under Donovan (just as Pelphrey) has for a couple years until he gets a job at a smaller school. Donovan will welcome him back in an instant though, Grant was Florida's next coach when Donovan went to the Magic for like three days.

This is the most likely answer.
Barbee is probably gonna end up on Cal's bench in Lexington.

yes, Florida AD Jeremy Foley is/was high on Grant. Think they go in another direction post Billy Donovan who has been incredible. Did Grant do much of the recruiting at UF?

Yea he did a lot of recruiting there. He's recruited well here at times. He signed a top five class nationally a few years ago. And I never meant to imply Florida would hire him as a HC now, I just said he was absolutely their next HC five years ago or so when Donovan went to Orlando for a couple days before changing his mind. And Grant will definitely go back to his staff as long as he's still at UF when Grant gets axed, Billy D loves him.
