No idea what happened to Hill but he is approaching Trent Richardson territory in a hurry. He was such a stud his rookie season and has just taken a complete nosedive since

He gets predominantly short yardage carries with Giovanni Bernard splitting snaps with him.

His TD stats are still very good.

The Paul Hornung Award is to recognize and reward versatile, high-level performers in major college football

Winners
Year Player Positions School

2013 Odell Beckham, Jr. WR & RS LSU[5]

What's unbelievable is how dumb Bama fans can be and how much room LSU takes up in ya'lls peanut shaped domes

This is a thread about LSU on the SEC Rant. If the intent had been for only LSU fans to respond, then it should have been posted on the LSU Board.

You think an award founded in 2010 is a higher honor than Second Team All-SEC?

A national award that every player in CFB was eligible for is less of a honor than 2nd team All SEC????

I'm sure if a Gump had won it your pea sized brain would think differently

ODB was a 1st Team All-American in 2013
He was also 1st Team All-SEC
He also won the Paul Hornung Award in 2013

Nope. These newer awards created just so ESPN can pad an awards show haven't been around long enough to mean a whole lot.

Example: I don't put much stock in Alabama's offensive line winning the first ever "best offensive line" award a last year.

As a returner. Isn't this thread about ODB as a receiver?

well Beckham was 1st team All-SEC and 1st Team All-American in 2013. Is that better than 2nd Team All-SEC?

I thought this thread was about Odell's biggest accomplishment as a player? Is a first Team AA honor > a 2nd Team All-SEC Honor? I'll hang up and listen

The title of the thread is "LSU 3 top 40 WRs, 2 Top 20 RBs in NFL." The thread isn't about his awards at all. The reality is that the best award he received as a receiver is second team All-SEC. That's not a terrible award to receive, but it's certainly not playing to the level he is now.

ETA: You fools just like to jump on Bama fans even when the point is valid. Stop acting like you don't know what the guy said is true.

I mean, that's kind of a stretch. He was 1st team all-purpose in like two of the ten organzations that select the all-americans. One was the Football Writers Assosciation which is pretty respectable I believe.

ESPN didn't create that award

You should just leave the thread when you have zero idea what you are talking about

Its far less effective to try and force one receiver the ball to put up stats, than it is to try and spread it around, especially when you had the high quality of skill players that LSU had in 2012 & 2013. He's definitely improved since he's been in the NFL, but he was still a really good collegiate player.

Or you could, you know, actually read the quote that started the debate.

quote:

ODB and Arian Foster

ODB's highest honor was getting Second team ALL SEC

unbelievable

Note he isn't specifying only WR honors. Therefore, his 1st team All-American honor is the best he received.

I know, reading is hard.

He had almost 1200 yards receiving in 2013. The receiver opposite him , Jarvis Landry, also had about 1200 yards receiving. This notion that Odell under-performed at LSU is hilarious. Go look at the 2 receivers that were 1st team All-SEC, one was drafted higher than Odell and finished with ~40 fewer receving yards than him this year in the NFL. The other, Jordan Matthews, led the SEC in receiving yards in 2013. SO does this mean both Odell Beckham and Mike Evans under-performed in college because they are better than Jordan Matthews in the NFL?
