Auburn is a fun road trip. Always had a good time when I have visited...

How's life Halifax? Order some new LSU clothes for those kids if they're outgrowing what you bought a few years back!
You should definitely make an Auburn trip. Stadium is very similar to LSU - old bowl with two newer upper decks. Very, very nice folks who have the usual SEC pride. But as recommended, you need to book a hotel early.
If you enjoy golf (which I know you do), barbecue (which I know you do), and you liked Clemson (which I know you did), you'll enjoy a trip to Auburn.

For all the hype about the "loveliest village on the plains", I don't get it. I have never been to Jordan-Hare where trash was not piled up everywhere around the stadium. Just nasty.
I guess we're just making shite up today, huh? You think Tuscaloosa is clean? Parts of this place look like Memphis without the Blues.
Making stuff up? I think not. Check this out - BEFORE the AL-Barn game in 2009:

Looks like one crazy party to me.
Especially considering that's the student section entrance.

We can't help it that you people don't use trash cans when you come to town.

If you're referring to the pic above, not photoshopped in any way. I personally took the pic.

That's the student section entrance. Not surprising they would just throw there shite down when the gates are about to open.

Good point. The entrance to the UA student section during last year's UA-LSU game looked like a disaster. Empty pint bottles, cans, and vomit. The landscaping was destroyed also.

More bars and a river. That's about it.

Auburn was one of my favorite road trips. People there are very friendly and the campus was nice IMO. Actually, after we lost they were almost to nice to me, I wanted some of them to talk shite to me bc thats what I would have been doing to them if we had won

How many bars do you need to get drunk?

Thanks for all of the advice. I realize that this game will not be as hyped as in past years. There is still a chance that it could be two undefeated teams.
This game appeals to me for a number of reasons:
It's relatively easy to get to;
The game could be closer than expected;
There is great golf nearby to play;
It would be a new stadium and locale to see;
My flight home could allow a stop in Chicago to visit a friend and catch a Bears game on Sunday.
I take the point that Auburn is not at their peak, and I did not know that they are under construction.
I am also toying with some other SEC games, including Alabama @ LSU. It would be a repeat visit, but that game is going to be huge (and expensive).
Goose: I bought some new shirts at the SECCG.
