Bama beat themselves today IMO. Hard to overcome 2 blown coverages by young CBs in a close game.

If Auburn loses to Bama and its a Oregon/TCU MNC, then Auburn will be in the sugar bowl.

It will all work itself out in the upcoming weeks.
Only if Auburn wins the SEC Championship. What people are failing to realize is, if a team from the East beats Auburn in the SEC Championship then they will go to the Sugar and Auburn will get the at large most likely.

Wrong.

LSU went to a BCS Bowl after a #2 West finish and Florida beat the West rep in the SECCG.

I think everyone realizes this

We also realize how bad the SEC East is this year and likelihood of that happening is not very high.

You have to play your percentages.

I considered it, but it is highly unlikely an East team wins the SEC-C game.

We need to worry about Miss St first. That's usually an ugly game for us in Stark Vegas.

I'll repeat:

LSU went to a BCS Bowl after a #2 West finish and Florida beat the West rep in the SECCG.

depends

If LSU finishes with 1 loss then probably (probably not definitely) LSU would get teh BCS bid and Auburn would end up pissed off at teh Capital One or Cotton Bowl

A lot of teh time the SEC CCG loser gets hosed relatively speaking

That year was totally differenct

AU would have one loss and go to an at large BCS bowl, while the East team would get the Sugar.

If AU loses at any point, we are eliminated pretty much.

Arkansas and LSU both control their BCS destiny IMO, because I do not see AU losing a game the rest of the way.

TCU, Boise and several other 1 loss teams from other conferences would go to a BCS game ahead of a 2 loss Arky.

The only way the SEC gets 2 bids this year is if LSU wins out or possibly if Bama beats State and Auburn.

Was this 06?

That was because the conference champion was in the BCS MNC game. The "AQ" conference has a tie-in with BCS bowls for their conference champion.

The Big East BCS bid could go to a team with 5-7 wins this year...

Disagree

Sugar Bowl is not taking a mid major matchup.

If Arkansas wins out, they are a lock for a top 12 in the BCS.

You have to look at the schedules here. Arkansas would have beaten 3 top 20 BCS teams by the end of the year.

Sugar Bowl still has a choice of teams. Why do you think LSU went to the 2006 Sugar Bowl after finishing 2nd in the West that year? They were top 12 in the BCS and the Sugar selected you......

LSU and Auburn were 10-2 and Arky was 10-3 so i assume it will be the same this year with whoever finishes with the higher ranking getting in regardless of head to head.

say arkansas wins out - they COULD make a BCS bowl - but IMO they are a real longshot with the Boise, TCU and 1 loss BCS teams floating around... there are only 10 spots with 6 taken by conference champs... and 2 look locked up by midmajors

Still have:
LSU(possible at large)/Auburn/Florida(upset win in SEC CCG)
Stanford(probable at large)/Oregon
Wisconsin/OSU/Michigan State
Ok State/Nebraska/Missouri
Boise
TCU

Very likely a Big 12, PAC 10, or Big 10 gets 2 representatives (plus the 2 midmajors) before Arkansas makes it with 2 losses

Sugar Bowl has taken a mid major the past several years......Hawaii, Utah, Cincinnati because they have had 1st pick and last pick.

Hypo #1: If Auburn goes to the national title, then the Sugar gets top pick. Even if Arky beats LSU, if both of you are 10-2, the Sugar will take LSU over Arky because LSU will sell more tickets.

Hypo #2: If Auburn loses to Alabama and does not go to the national title, then the Sugar will take Auburn (assuming they win the SEC). Some other BCS bowl will then have a shot at another SEC team if they want them (which is not a given) and in this case it would probably be a 10-2 Alabama over a 10-2 LSU or a 10-2 Arky because our last game would be a win over Auburn and we are the defending champs and travel well/give better tv ratings.

There are not many legitimate scenarios where a 10-2 Arkansas gets a BCS bid.

Probably will not happen, but what happens if [BIG IF] Auburn looses to Georgia and Alabama and LSU looses to Ole Miss and Arky and Al beats MSU,and AU? Au would have 2 losses [head to head] to Al. Lsu would have 3 losses and Al would have two losses---wouldn't Al go to atlanta just like LSU did in 1957?

If LSU loses to Arkansas you could fall out of the BCS top 12. Don't you have to be in the top 12 to be BCS at-large bid eligible?
