Several SEC teams have nightmare RB committees this year. UGA gets all the hype, but A&M has four quality backs that will see time this year, including a couple high-profile transfers.

Who does Hill have rolling with him in the backfield? Haven't paid much attention to y'all's RB situation.

Alfred Blue, Jeremy Hill, Kenny Hillard. All guys who have seen significant carries. Throw in Terrence Magee as the 4th and it's not to shabby.

Call me biased, but it's just as talented as Melena, Williamsx2, and Carson if Hill is back there. Also more experienced. No doubt A&M is faster and more athletic though.

I wasn't trying to flame--I honestly hadn't paid attention to other teams' backfields save UGA's.

Thanks for the info

Alfred Blue: Began 2012 as starting RB, notching 100 yd. games against North Texas and Washington before going down against Idaho with a knee injury. Had over 500 yds. in crowded backfield in '11.

Kenny Hilliard: Power back broke out in 2011 with 2 TD's vs. Auburn and Georgia, and 100 yds. vs. Arky. 2nd leading rusher on team in '12 but was unable to break into starting rotation.

Terrence Magee turned heads at Spring Practice after being switched from WR.

Will be interesting to see how y'all use those backs in '13.

Neither team will lose for lack of RB talent.

Nah, it's really going to come down to execution. Whoever makes the fewest mistakes and capitalizes on more opportunities will win.

Impossible game to predict.

Assuming the injury bug doesn't rear its ugly head with either squad, of course.

Yea both of us have a lot of questions to answer. I said earlier that Miles and Chavis have defensive reloading down to an art, but this might be their biggest challenge yet. LSU lost so many starts and tackles and minutes. Not to mention talent: I mean you don't just replace 10+ guys going to the NFL (not without missing a beat anyway). On the other side of the ball, there's a decent chance their O will improve a good with the new coordinator.

We've got a ton of guys to replace on D and it remains to be seen who'll step up at WR. So yea, neither of us really have any idea what our teams will look like.

Bama did it last year.

If you don't think we can replace Spencer Ware and Michael Ford it's wishful thinking. Chris Faulk hardly played for us last year. We lose high profile D-Lineman every year. We lose high profile DB's every year. Recruiting fixes that. When you're an elite program, losing juniors to the draft only assures more NFLers are right behind them. We lost 3 DB's to the draft from 2011's team (and a wee Heisman finalist) and were fine in the secondary last year.

Like maddoggy said, though, Bama did it just fine last year.

And even if they DO miss a beat (by their standards), A&M plays them too late in the year to be a beneficiary, IMO.

The D is a major question mark. But it was last year, too, to be honest. I think Snyder wows us all once again. Not gonna be a Wrecking Crew, but with our offense, I don't think we'll have to have that anyway.

The WR's who can step up and mesh with JFF's scramble game are the ones who will prosper. Evans is the security blanket, but I'd say Malcome Kennedy is the early favorite to be a key WR.

madddog, maybe you'll be right. Perhaps you all will once again have a top 10 defense. LSU has recruited extremely well on that side of the ball and Miles & Chavis know their shite. I personally think you all will slide a bit, but I'm not incredibly confident about it or anything. You all will be fine at RB, though you'd be getting a bit thin if Hill ends up suspended or kicked off the team.

TBird, I'm not worried about WR. We've got an insane amount of talent there, it's just that most of it's untested. Still, it's almost a sure thing that 1-2 players will step up out of our horde of bluechippers.

Should be a great game. The truth is Les Miles would have Manziel has a 3rd string quarterback. I love the TAMU style vs. the LSU talent.

So A&M is the only team to improve since they lost to LSU? You never know what a team is going to do just because of what they were last year.

No, I said Manziel improved after the LSU game and is likely to continue to improve. The overall teams are impossible to judge at this point. I just don't think the same strategies to try to get Manziel flustered and to make bad decisions will be as effective as they were last year.

I definitely agree that DV will be nuts for this game, I'm just not sure it is going to matter. If anything Manziel seemed to feed off the energy of difficult environments later in the year. Dude is a cocky SOB.

I think the key to the game actually will be the LSU offense vs the A&M D. If LSU can control the clock and wear down the A&M D then they will win. All the focus is on Manziel of course but the best strategy is to keep the ball out of his hands.
