He was responding to the OP who stated that Louisiana was the “poorest state”.

I am not sure what the state budget having a surplus has to do with being poor relative to other states.

Slamming Deep South states for being poor is just code for the obvious effects of slavery followed by generations of overt racism. Plenty of immigrants have come down South and done just fine in these "dirt poor" states because they aren't digging out from Jim Crow. Granted, Louisiana is famously corrupt or else it'd be swimming in a lot more money from resources like Texas.

Why poor people stay poor. They value status symbols above all else. LSU is just a reflection of its broke arse state.

So you're just pretending that Mizzou wouldn't have paid him too?

One good season isn’t worth getting irrational. Assistants are easily replaced.

So matching LSU's offer was irrational then, right?

It's okay to admit it.

Yet Mizzou was willing to compete with LSU's offer.

You paid over 6 million for your defensive staff to not to coach at LSU anymore. Now 2.5 million a year for a new DC. On top of the $100 million for overpaid, washed up, unethical Brian Kelly.

It’s like Louisiana living in the ghetto, a state that lives outside its means. A state that spends money on things it doesn’t need but wonders why it lives in the ghetto. And then their residents blame their leaders for how poor and ghetto their state is.

Imagine trying to shame LSU about overpaying for coaches in a conference where Auburn and Aggy exist.

You won’t do anything. Buy some LSU merch. They’re counting on you, I’m sure.

We hired on a budget this time. All of our contracts with Elko's staff are reasonable. Fisher taught us a valuable lesson.

As I hope you would understand...Money is not every thing in life. The most unique state in this great country is made up of passionate people that love life, great food, college sports and perhaps most of all LSU football. TO ALL WHO PUT THIS STATE DOWN...Y'ALL CAN GO frick OFF!
