Howland is a step down from Ricky Ray? Go harass some minorities.

Idiot.

Coaching at State from most any D1 programs is a step down.

Now watch as all the State fans try and make this about AK.

No one has made our basketball hire about Ole Miss. Y'all always have been below us in basketball and have never been a major concern until recently because it was rare you ever beat us anyway.

And Howland isn't coming from any other D1 coaching position. So therefore, it's a step up.

Neither was Pearl, but it was still a step down.

States been to a final four and won a conference title in modern times. There are plenty of programs who can't say they've done either of those.

I mean there are WNBA(that's still a thing right) teams that would destroy your team after spotting you 20 pts.

This is all I need to know you're an idiot.

Don't act like you're some powerhouse.
Where have we acted like this? We are happy because we are picking up a guy from a basketball powerhouse; not because we think we are a powerhouse.

UCLA to State is a huge step down.

He didn't go from UCLA to State. He went from UCLA to broadcasting to State.

Glad to see you notice our mild basketball success.
Glad to see you're concerned with our basketball program enough to come in a thread and post about it.

Since 1995: 8 NCAA tourney bids, 5 NIT bids, 3 SEC tourney championships, 1 SEC outright, a final 4 and a sweet 16. That's really not too bad.

You're calling our program the greatest. We are just saying we've accomplished more than many schools including every school in the SEC other than UF, UK, Arky, and LSU.

Stop putting words in big bros mouth.

Has anyone addressed the coaches the SEC West is about to consist of next year.

Howland, Pearl, Kennity (yes, I consider Kennity a good coach), and ______ insert a likely equally impressive bama hire.

Add in Stallings, Calipari, Mike Anderson, and Donovan and you have a solid list of top-tier coaches for the SEC.

The question is when do Missouri, LSU, SCAR and A&M become serious about basketball again. LSU and A&M have ok trend lines. Mizzou doesn't. SCAR is underperforming a bit, but a trend line that is still slightly sloping upwards. It will be interesting to see next year's conference games.

ETA: forgot Georgia. They have a good trend line as well.
