He's taking a job a shitty program in a weak basketball conference. I mean there are WNBA(that's still a thing right) teams that would destroy your team after spotting you 20 pts.
Don't act like you're some powerhouse.
UCLA to State is a huge step down.
UT to AU was a massive step down for Pearl.

Really glad to see the entire SEC getting serious about hiring solid coaches for basketball ... it's waaay past time and now, with the money flowing-in, there is no excuse for not doing-it, for not hiring big time big name coaches with serious experience.

Step down? It's a step up from what he's been doing the last two years. Howland already knows and has seen first hand what State can do in basketball. Kentucky is the only program in the SEC that can hold a candle to UCLA in legacy, so no one is comparing our program to their program.
