I said I'd never flamed Mizzou umprompted - as in I haven't flamed you except when you were trolling us. As for the rest of tRant, Mizzou has largely been treated unfairly in prior years. Hell's Bells I've defended you on multiple occasions. However, right now you're largely reaping the consequences of incessant, organized trolling tRant all offseason so in that way you've definitely earned the ire of ranters.

The Mizzou hatred is for a few reasons. And yes, hatred. It goes far beyond conference foe ribbing. All the way to pure vitriol.
1. We aren't southern. Now surely this is a dumb reason, and not the absolute trigger for the hate but it's something that's contributed and has from day 1. I don't know why southerners are so exclusionary but it's a big issue for a lot of them. It's really an inferiority complex that is deep seeded.
2. We won the East. Twice. Most SEC fans were thoroughly convinced that the SEC was so far superior to the rest of the country that Mizzou was certainly going to be a bottom dweller for eternity. This thoroughly rustled some jimmies. Again, not really gasoline on the fire but a contributing factor. It was fairly tame until...
3. The incident on campus. This spun a lot of posters here into an uncontrollable rage that they still haven't been able to move past. An explanation isn't needed why a board mostly filled with white conservatives (a very angry group to begin with) would take such exception to the events on campus.
It's where we are. It will probably fade a bit in time, but for the time being I wouldn't waste much time trying to apply reason to it.

I can appreciate that. Sad to see what's become of our basketball program. Hope to see some growth this year, but not really holding my breath.

I've partied from Bongla Road to swimming with great whites off the coast of South Africa, all without a "safe-space" for 2k miles, I'm all kinds of fun, sounds like you can't defend your lot in life though.

I know how important it is to be an "Aggie" as my best friend and his whole family are Aggies. I know how much school pride there is, and how much it means in the state of Texas.
To be honest, I don't think anyone would be proud of the way you present your school. Pretty classless.

Very true, we did shite the bed, and every Mizzou fan knows it. We've done now on several occasions. That's why there has always been split loyalty to GP. But, that's past now, and we have to look forward to what's coming.
