Just noticed this and I don't get it.

I guess it looks like really good material and fine workmanship, so he assumes it came from Mexico and not a sweatshop in China or Singapore where all the other Walmart shirts come from?

As someone who has lived in Mississippi for almost 4 years now, I can wholeheartedly tell you that the Mississippi State fans care way, way more about the Egg Bowl than Ole Miss does.

If you don't believe that their following doesn't take that same, weird, obsessive Mantra that Mullen has with beating Ole Miss (which, the past few years, was NO big deal), then you're sadly mistaken.

Ask anyone wearing Navy Blue and Red, and they'll tell you the Alabama victory means 1,000x more than the Egg Bowl did.

I will not chide Mississippi State fans, or any agricultural school that shares a state with their traditional university brethren (Auburn, Texas A&M, etc...), there is good reason for disdain. Whether you've experienced it personally, or have heard about it in the multitude of accounts in media and in print, they have generally bit looked down upon by their in-state rivals.

In the Roll Tide/War Eagle documentary, the narrator plainly said, "The University of Alabama was where the state's leaders sent their children to become businessman, doctors, and lawyers. Auburn University on the other hand was an agricultural institution, where many of the farmers went to perfect their trade."

The same narrative is certainly mirrored in the Egg Bowl rivalry. False or not, Ole Miss has the reputation for being Mississippi's leader in business, legal, and medical education. For whatever reason, those professions seem to draw more public admiration than those of their Engineering and Agricultural counterparts, (Which is odd, considering how much engineers make nowadays).

The other major factor concerning the rivalry is that quite simply, Ole Miss is a national institution compared to Mississippi State. Ole Miss I believe has more students from out of state than in state.

Those out-of-state kids would rather see Ole Miss beat the name brands of the SEC, like LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, etc... than Mississippi State.

Mississippi State is widely considered the "people's university" of the state because it is predominantly an in-state school. The majority of their students and alumni, grew up with a vested interest in the Egg Bowl. They are the ones who sat through slug fests in the rain in Jackson, and dealt with 3-9 match ups the most.

I don't understand why Mississippi State tries to pull the "Lil' Bro" narrative. It must be satire. While Ole Miss fans do care about beating state, because of the general history of the fanbases in current makeup of students and alumni geographical points, they just don't have the same passion for the Egg Bowl that Dawg fans do--and it's a shame.

I would never wear that shirt. Who cares that we beat the best State team of all time. I'm pissed we lost to our real rival.

I'll admit it's gay, but your team rents billboards all over the state!

Didn't Dan Mullen even stand by his "We're never losing to this team again" statement after the 2012 Egg Bowl?
