Man, that really sucks. It's not exactly close from batesville to starksville, but Hattiesburg is no where close. Guess next time they have to play the games down there they should just do them all during daylight hours...

Weather didn't happen until like 30 minutes after the lights went off apparently.

Yea lightning. They wouldn't have started back until about 10:30 at the earliest. That a late trip back to hattiesburg if the game ended at midnight. And as many times as OG throws it, it would have lasted longer.

Also, knowing as an OG fan that you are gonna get beat sucks. Now you have to drive back late tonight and then come back Sunday to get beat. Miserable.

Yea that first offensive drive went as bad as it could have. Run on first down, play gets blown up but you get outside for 7. Then a 6 yard loss on a run. Then on 3rd and long the pocket collapses and your QB scrambles and takes a big hit. Then SP throws for success on the other side of the ball so you have to account for that and stop the run game. Not looking good.

I always thought "stark" was Cherokee for doo-doo.

Hence Starkville.

From MSU PR

@sidsalter: MSU power outage was caused by a lightning strike on an overhead line on Blackjack Road that destroyed the breaker on the substation.

Looks like weather was the issue

The Egg Bowl was lost because of the bus ride from Starkville to Oxford.
