What? UGA's defense is not good. They are 9th ,,in the sec in total defense.

That is rich. All this week Bama fans on the Rant have been starting threads basically begging for our attention because we were focused on Georgia.
We are always somewhere in your minds. Just admit it and move on.

This started out as a solid thread, then the knuckle draggers got involved.

Just like the sunrise... They could not resist trolling up the game thread either. It is laughable they believe they are all AU fans think about.

You know,
Auburn has been playing all year with just a handful of plays.
It would be naive to think we don't have a few more formations with several more plays that nobody has seen all year, that we haven't really needed.
I'm more concerned about our defense. But then again aTm put what, 42 on 'Bama? All Auburn needs is 30 and then God steps in.

If Auburn can get 3 73 yd Hail Mary's with assistance from the Bama secondary, it might go down to the wire.

To beat Auburn you need 11 guys on defense that can make the solo tackle.
Auburn's offense thrives on getting the defense spread out and making every guy on defense play his assignment, often times without a lot of help. If you miss tackles Auburn's offense will kill you (even more than other offenses) because often there is only one guy that will be in position to make the tackle, even when the defense has executed perfectly. To me that is the beauty of Auburn's offense - it puts so much pressure on all 11 defenders every play.
If you play your assignment AND you everyone tackles well, then Auburn's running game can be stopped. Alabama's defense is known for good gap assignment and good tackling and they will have to show it in two weeks.

On offense, Bama needs to throw a lot of quick slants. That's what got UGA back in the game against AU. It negates AU's pass rush which is one of the strongest parts of their game.
Auburn's offense is option based. Bama needs to focus on taking away one of the options preferably the outside runs by Mason. That's obviously easier said than done.
On offense, Auburn needs to hit some play action passes downfield early to loosen up Bama's defense. If auburn gets Bama playing on their heels, they'll do the same thing that they've done to everybody else which is run for 300+ yards.
On defense, Auburn needs to focus on stopping the run and watch for the quick passes over the middle. Thankfully, they've got Jake Holland to shut that shite down.

This defense is better than all our past defenses, except 2011.
Why do people say this? This defense doesn't have a Kirkpatrick, Milliner, Hightower, or Upshaw. Alabama's had great rushing defense stats the past 2 seasons, but it visibly isn't as dominant as 2011. From the stats, 2009 was dominant against the run. What happened to all the Alabama fans that claimed 2009 had an elite defense? This year's defense is not elite.
