I thought we would 2 or 3 SEC titles and maybe win a NC. Let's just say he has exceeded expectations.

It's going to suck when he retires.

Serious question: who do y'all go after and how many before another NC?

I'd assume the keys are handed over to an established coach and not a hot "up and comer" right?

When he had the meeting with the heads of the REC in Mobile shortly afterwards and told them that he did not care how they found him players, just do it. I knew we were in for a long run.

this is like the Jordan Flu Game. What a awesome effort by you to contribute to the trailer park mentality that is Alabama....

Oh and how does Saban's arse taste?

I know someone that is on the "inside" of the UA admin/alumni money and when Saban was hired he told me on that day Bama would have a natty in three years. Even he will admit, at this point he didn't know Bama would be on the ride it is since his hiring.

I assume you were invited to this meeting, since you know so much about it?

I had a good feeling that Alabama was going to be very very good with Saban in charge.

My father told me Saban was going to win BIG at Bama.

I'm glad he didn't live to see what has happened. His last LSU game was the national title game against Ohio state.

Glad he died when he did

Speaking personally, I'd rather flash back to December 20, 2006.

Even though he was almost certainly lying through his teeth at the time, at least back then I still had hopes and dreams.

He told the Huntsville REC to stay the hell out of the way and let him do the recruiting. I highly doubt he gave Mobile the opposite message.

I think Saban learned at LSU that he could recruit the South a lot easier than at Michigan State. He knew how to put together great recruiting classes. I believe he had the #1 recruiting class his first season and followed up with another and another. Then, he got these players to play to their potential. That ain't easy. He has sure earned my respect.

Saban made Urban fake heart problems in 2009, never thought I'd see that.

Didn't realize how bama biased the sec was until saban. Great coach but wouldn't have the success he's had without the bias.

He didn't tell Mobile to "get players". He told every chapter he met with - and Kirby echoed it when he made stops - "we appreciate your support. We need it. One area we don't need your help is in recruiting. We have a process and we will recruit well. We don't need your help"
