Um, two southern schools playing a bowl game in the South in a snowstorm is pretty memorable from novelty alone. It also was an entertaining game that was a typical RC "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" type of thing.

Jackie Sherrill connection as well.

I'll also say this: The 11 AM start time is a HUGE factor in A&M's favor. Given this is probably MSU's biggest home game in at least 15 years, the fact that we dont have to play in front of a rowdy night crowd is a nice break for us.

I've never been in a stadium that was rocking at 11 AM.

Yup.

I don't think they've been the same. Since we've been conference mates, they've always had the single stripe, while we had doubles, iirc.

Yeah but quick glance it throws me off. Them both being vertical. I think theirs are horizontal now.

The Dallas/Miami Thanksgiving game was also well remembered by football fans, it didn't mean much either (other than showcase how stupid Leon Lett was).

Hey. Leon wasn't used to being on the field goal unit. Give him a break!!!!

Gotcha. Yeah I agree.

I think you're thinking about their alternate jersey they wore in death valley. AFAIK their standard jersey still has the vertical stripe.

I could be wrong tho. Again, I hope adidas just lets one or both teams wear alternatives. Hell, they could use the annual TAMU/State game to trot out new stuff every year.

I hate how we are both Adidas and both maroon and white.

I hated adidas until they rolled out our SEC-era unis. IMO they are the best TAMU has ever worn.

It does suck that they mirrored ours with y'all's (or vice versa, of course), though, especially since they had to have known we'd be playing each other every year

There is no reason to say this as of now. That A&M team was 5-2 and ranked 17th. This A&M team is 5-0 and ranked 6th. It just so happened that we played probably our most complete game of the season against MSU in 2012, and our defense played its best game of the Sumlin era.

I hope darkhorse has an extra special melt in store for us after this game.

ATm has a much improved defense than in 2012, but we need to be comparing this to last years matchup where Dakota shared snaps and still took the game to the wire at Kyle Field. As noted, our offense and your D are the overnight differences and this is why I agree with Tbird on it being a barnburner

I didn't mean anything derogatory and have utmost respect for Mullins, but was just saying it is not that big of a deal to me..

Saying he took the game to the wire is misleading. A&M had a 24 point lead with about 8 minutes left and MSU scored a couple garbage TDs and A&M ran the clock out up by 10.
