That would be fantastic.

After the OU game, you will see Bama's Opponents go after that secondary early and often. The QB play in the SEC should be better next year from a passing standpoint. If Collins is not having a big year, then bama's D will have problems.

We'd need to nail down the definition of "big", but otherwise I agree.

SEC loses mccarron, murray, manziel, and mettenberger and you think it improves?

That is likely. But that was the case most of last year anyway.

Not so sure about that. SEC is losing some all-time passers at several schools. Some will improve but others will likely regress.

First of all for some perspective, Alabama's defense will likely be in the top 5 like they have every year since 2008. I guess "having problems" is relative. I do agree that Alabama's defense showed some uncharacteristic weaknesses last year, particularly in the A&M and Oklahoma games, but you seem to presume that Alabama's defense won't or can't get better. I don't think there is any reason to believe that Saban and his defensive staff won't make adjustments and/or that some young secondary players won't get better. We'll see.

That is 4 of the conf top 5 highest passer ratings. You dont get better when they leave.

Just look at the West. Ole Miss, MSU, AU and Ark should have an improved passing game. In the East, FL and TN can not be any worse. All those teams will go after bama's secondary. Another issue is bama's DL and LBs inability to get a pass rush, so look for them to blitz more with Man on Man coverage.

Yeah but the top 5 passers from a rating standpoint are leaving the conference, half all together. Sure the other 6 have a chance to improve but those other 6 teams will be starting anew so the conf will be filled with projects, either new or continuing.

There is not a proven legit passer in the SEC as of today.

How many of them were on Bama's schedule ? I know they did not play Murray,Shaw or Franklin.

Implied that since the best QBs were leaving the SEC, it increased Bama's ability to Defend the pass. My point is that some of the Best QBs did not play against Bama last year, which helped them earn the reputation of being a great D. Of the ones that they did play, most should have an improved passing game next year.

Why do you make this presumption?

...Shaw and Franklin. 2013 was a great year for SEC QB's. I think we'll have a dip too.

Because most of those teams will emphasize the passing game more this year due to talent or comfort level of their QBs.

You're the same guy that says Winston is a better nfl prospect than Luck was? You also said Winston would be drafted #1 overall if he was eligible for this year's draft?

he better hope terrance magee is injured when he plays LSU. Magee owned that guy on back to back plays last season. Run his arse over then beat him to the corner on the next play.

He's a very good tackler though
