Les Miles could retire today, and it would take Mullen 7 years to catch up to him in NFL players taken.

Brilliant analysis...you know, since Miles has been a head coach for 8 years longer than Mullen and all. Idiot.

Mullen has done what no other state coach can do - consistently win enough to go bowling. The problem is state is in a division that will make it tough to sustain it and that will drive Mullen away at some point - you can bet he would crawl to Bama and LSU when those jobs open in the next 5 or so years. I like Mullen and he has been the perfect hire for Moo St. He could be a lifer there.

LSU is gonna recruit 5 star players and chances are they gonna make it to the nfl. LSU tradition and money is greater than the smaller schools. What student athlete wouldnt want to play for a national championship and play in front of 100,000 fans? How many 2 and 3 star recruits have made the nfl ? I really dont pay attention to recruiting cause all that is potential of being a good college player. Sure, having high profile recruits helps. Dak Prescott is from Louisiana that LSU didnt want. They did recruit him but late in the season and didnt recruit him as a qb. He would have went there if they would have recruited him as a qb. We know what he did to LSU last year. DeRuyanna Wilson, who is a top receiver. He just bullies the defensive backs. He would have went to Auburn or Alabama if they offered. Chris Jones is the only 5 star talent on the team and he is a fan of State. Mullen has done more with less

msu_dawg15Les Miles by msu_dawg15I think Les Miles is a good coach but his offensive style is getting out-dated. Mullen is a better coach as far as developing players

Yeah, because a 3,000 yard passer, two 1,000 yard receivers and a 1,000 yard rusher just TWO seasons ago with Mettenberger, Landry, Beckham, and Hill just like................................
NEVER HAPPENED. It was all a mirage I guess.

If Mettenberger had been eligible last year, he would have put up similar numbers.

The problem is, Anthony Jennings is no Zach.

Now, with Brandon Harris this year and Harris and 5 star 6'5" 225 Felipe Franks coming next year - watch out.........

BTW, LSU leads the nation with 45 players on NFL rosters......
And Mullen ???????????????????????????

Miles has put 2 stars in the NFL. Hester was a 2 star. Plenty of 3 stars too.

OSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, So Cal, Florida etc. have all recruited more 5 star players than Miles, but he sends more to the NFL. Recruits know it too. LSU = NFLSU. Deal with it.
