if he gets fired, finishes the year, and next month Texas fires strong, then hires Les, is Les still getting $15mill from LSU?
Yes, this is why Charlie Weis is living the high life right now.

If it's offered, he should go. He won't be able to do anything to please most of these idiots at LSU. Even if he wins a natty next year, they'll find some ludicrous excuse to get rid of him. LSU fans don't deserve him.

Wouldn't LSU just have to make up the difference in salary? (If there was a negative difference.)

I understand the point you are trying to make but Les has done a much better job than Nutt. Not that it means you shouldn't fire Les.

I'm mostly saying that Arkansas fans had the reasons they wanted Nutt gone that only made since to those who'd been following the program closely. Everyone else thought they were being ungrateful. Houston Nutt had 3 Atlanta appearances which is hard to do at Arkansas.

The way I understand it, it is like any other buyout. He gets the money provided he doesn't get a job paying more money (south of 2 million per year). If he is hired by Texas, regardless of when or how he gets the job, he will be making more than that and LSU doesn't have to pay. That's what I was reading yesterday, anyway.

Fair enough and I understand LSU fans' mindset but I still believe it would be a mistake. I would give him one more year with this young team, although if they look uninspired in this last game against A&M my mind may change.

If they can't lure away Jimbo or Chip Kelly, I agree, although I don't think the results next year will be anything special with Les. If Jimbo looks like a pretty sure thing I think we have to pull the trigger.

Chip Kelly
I'm kinda surprised that more LSU fans havn't talked about him, even saw a few that didn't want him. I think he probably would want the USC job over LSUs just based on being use to the west coast and having a lot of familiarity with that recruiting area. Seems like a lot are on the Jimbo or bust train.

I feel like Chip to USC is pretty much a lock if he keeps fricking up in Philly. But in the end nobody on this board knows shite or will have anything to do with contract buyouts so all we can do is watch and try not to melt. Whatever happens, I think we are all pretty sure Miles' best days are behind him.

Please make this happen!!!
Les is good for the game of college football - he's a decent, clean living man, who is a hell ton of fun. He doesn't run around bible-thumping or claiming moral superiority. He's not some fat bloated frick garnering attention for bragging about banging his trophy wife. He is who he is, by God and I love him for that. What coach in the history of this sport not only eats grass, but readily admits to it.
I was hoping he would land in the SEC but I think that Texas would give him an even bigger sounding board. Godspeed Lester Miles... may the force be with you!!

OVE to see Les go to Texas and dominate both states in recruiting. It would wipe out LSU and A&M with one stroke.
And THIS!!!

He would take Wilson, O, and Raymond with him. LSU may only get 3 of the top 10 recruits in the state.

I've no idea. I just know I really, really want to see these conversations ramp up through Saturday.

The buyout will be about 1.6mil a yr for 8yrs and stops if he coaches again.
