You guys are going to some great lengths to defend Miles. Unbelievable. This proves more and more that his time has come and gone.

I wouldn't call this great lengths at all. I copied and pasted Speedy's original thread, and changed a few of the numbers to reflect the last 2 games. Took a total of about 3 minutes.

It's all there. Nobody really has to defend him. If you people want the guy who's responsible for all of that gone, then the blood's on your hands. It may be wise to take a look at Tennessee, Auburn, and Texas though.

Tennesse and Texas didn't make a move quick enough and let the program degenerate significantly, which is why they are where they are. This move would be to avoid that.

Exactly, this tells you everything you need to know.

Has a coach ever been so defended by opposing fan bases?

Fulmer had gone 10-4, won the SEC East (lost to NC LSU by a touchdown in the SECCG), and beaten Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl just the previous year. You're saying they should have fired him after that season or sooner?

Love how the SEC rant talks shite about Miles during the season about how over rated and terrible he then in the off-season when LSU fans want him gone yall pump him up and call us retards for thinking that.

Yeah they should have fired him after having a losing season in 2005

An LSU fan initially posted this 3 weeks ago. And got a ton of positive replies and upvotes from other LSU fans. Go read the original post.

Seems like more of an LSU fan issue.

I respect him as a coach because he is the reason why Oklahoma State has been so successful under Mike Gundy.

I think he totally shat the bed when getting shutout against the very team he defeated in 2011, in the game that mattered the most. Had LSU won the national title, IMO, the 2011 team would have been the best in major college football history.

His 2007 team was nothing special, IMO. Yes, they won the national title, but 2007 season for everyone was just all beating up on each other. When a (12-1) Kansas has the best record of all BCS teams by the end of the season, you know the year as a whole was a cluster.

He has kept LSU relevant for sure, but I think he will always be remembered for laying an egg against Alabama for all the marbles.

You can't deny the downward trend since this game.

The downward trend, IMO, started after the 2007 NC. Perriloux got kicked off the team, Pick Six marathons ensued, and with the exception of an extremely talented 2011 squad, it's been bumpy and many times mediocre.

Why do we care about Miles - not a rival.

We beat Tennessee and Auburn week is almost here. What the heck are you thinking?

Would have been a nearly identical situation. In 2004, they finished 10-3, won the SEC East (losing to the best Auburn team of all time in the SECCG), and beat the shite out of Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl. You fire a guy like Fulmer for that? Prior to 2005, he had back to back 10-3 seasons, an 8-5 season, and an 11-2 season.
