well fwiw, Larry Coker is the head coach to retire/get fired from his team quickest after winning a NC (won the NC in 2001, and then was fired after 2006, a 5-7 season for Miami). Obviously, Les is feeling pressure heading into this year.
out of curiosity, has any coach gotten fired/left quicker after winning a NC than Coker did at Miami (5 years after winning it)?

Bill McCartney (Colorado)- won in 1990; 1994 was his last season
Bobby Ross(Georgia Tech)- won it in 1990; 1991 was his last year
Jimmy Johnson (Miami)- won it 1987, his last year
Dennis Erickson(miami) won it in 1991- 1994 was his last year
Dan Devine(ND)- won it in 1977, 1980 was his last year (this was very interesting, b/c not only was this devines only championship, it was the only time he ever finished ranked in the top 25 while at Notre Dame)
Ara PArseghian- won it in 1973, 1974 was his last year
Johnny Majors (pitt) won it in 1976, left for tennessee that year
Howard Schnellenberger (miami) won it in 1983, left that year
Stallings- won it 1992, 1996 was his last year
Paul dietzel (LSU) won it 1958, 1960 was his last year
Red sanders (ucla) won it in 1954, 1957 was his last year

we didnt play to our potential last year either and we still beat the living dog shite out of chizik and his crew of flunkies.
FWIW Iowa St had more win last year than they had during 2 years combined while Chizik was there.

Meh,decent comparison IMO.As German as it may be the last thing the rest of the SEC wants is for Les to go 6-6.

Miles is a better coach than Coker was. Coker amassed all thoes losses in a crappy conference were Miles coaches in the SEC and hasn't come near the level of dropoff Coker had. I know he catches a lot of grief but Miles isn't even the worst LSU coach of the last 20 years. I couldn't sleep last night and watched the 94 AU/LSU interception game. are you Les' son? wtf are you so pissed off about that you can't handle an opinion. my logic is based off of popular knowledge that Les Miles even admits himself to be a bad X's and O's coach.
I figure Coker got a NC somehow... and it obviously wasn't because he was as good a motivator as your beloved coach... so i assume it was because he knew the game of football well enough. but clearly knowing the game alone isn't enough to make you a "great" coach.
if you can't take opinions, i'd suggest leaving TD.com. you'll get seriously hurt.
Popular knowledge by whom? Are they at practice. Never heard Les say he was a bad Xz and Os coach? Where can I find this statement?
I may get hurt but a mouthy pussy like you won't do it.
You know what the say about opinions. Why not back yours' up with facts?
If you want to hurt me,I will make myself available. Bring your purse.

I guess he is
Quick expanation:
From 1950-1997, there were two major polls: Coaches and AP. Sometimes, they disagreed on who was number one. When a different team was chosen by each poll, it was called a split national title. In the 48 year history of the two poll system, there was a plit title 9 times i belive

I don’t really follow the games all that closely. That’s what coordinators are for.
I don't look at the actual strategy part of the game at all basically. LINK
this isn't the one i'm remembering, but this will help to prove my point.
