Hurts is still green, he just turned 18 yrs old. He will get some specialized QB training in the offseason, work on his passing and getting more comfortable with his receivers and do fine going forward.

Isn't his dad a coach? That's another positive for his offseason development

Hes taller than russel wilson or dre brees. Hes 6'2" around 210 at 18. He could still grow up to an inch and hes definitely going to add weight in our program. He could easily be 6'3 230 by the time he leaves

I say this because he doesn't really have that NFL size or "type" so to speak, even if he ended up being the best passer in the nation in on of those years.

On the contrary he has everything an NFL team could want physically from a QB. It's a matter of him progressing as far as reading defenses both pre-snap and going through progressions, having consistent footwork and making the best decisions. He's shown flashes of being capable of all of those things but as you'd expect from a true freshman he's been inconsistent.

Overall it's far too early to call. He seems to be a focused and driven individual though so I wouldn't be surprised to see him reach that level.

Here is your answer. Next year, Hurts is going to be on the field with the new qb from Hawaii that Gruden said is the best qb he's ever seen. That dude is a lefty. He'll be in camp next month on the scout team. So, next year, they'll both line up in the backfield. You'll never know who gets the ball. Totally new offense and everybody is toast.

You're welcome.

He will need to throw the ball farther than 5 yards down field
