This. There are good posters that want to talk football from every fan base on here but then every fan base has their rantards. The fanbases that you like the least are going to be the ones you think are the worst.

Maybe, if you let your bias take hold. For example, I hate Arkansas and Alabama, but I'm not going after either in this thread.

How am I being "butthurt"? That phrase is stupid, for what it's worth

Texas A&M fans IRL get my vote.
When they came to LSU, spent an entire tailgate with some. They were more interested in my golden retriever puppy than football though.

ETA: Think I read the OP wrong.

Can't even believe this is a conversation.

You were getting defensive. You seem more reasonable now. Namaste.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I don't think objective thinking is a criteria for fans.

They're not mutually exclusive. The type of fans that spend their days discussing CFB (in the offseason), are invested in the game. Granted, how much they know about the game is a separate conversation, but I think it is fair to say they're more knowledgeable on the whole than those who don't make such efforts.

Thus, you have to assume some of these diehard message board folks also have the raw capability to discuss CFB generally. Some on here are pretty good at it, and occasionally I learn something from a rival fan.

Alabama, but...

But notice that in every thread where an SEC-wide subject is being discussed, UGA fans give us the UGA team update, whether that is relevant or not.

This is hilarious and true.

I can be somewhat objective, if I just stick to facts- not opinion.

For instance, I think even Nick Saban would agree that Auburn ran the ball well last season.

I can assent that Saban is a great recruiter.
Todd Gurley is a great talent.

The conversations breakdown when people decide to deal in personal attacks instead of facts.

Have you talked to an A&M fan away from a message board? They remind me of Phil from Modern Family.

Pretty good analogy. Guy is fairly wealthy, has all these beautiful women in his life, but because he acts like an idiot everyone has low expectations for him.

Well, I was going more with being a male cheerleader in college and also being goofy and not being your typical manly man but in a good way.
But that is just the vibe I got from tailgating with some A&M students.

Most schools have male cheerleaders; A&M actually does not.
You need to meet a few more people.
There are a couple more of us than "some students" with whom you tailgated once.

Just correcting his error.
The "gay" thing is dumb.
But go with it.

Have you met UT fans? At least Bama fans harp on things from this century.
