This ranking is not without evidentiary support. I've lived in DC for like 7 years now. Enough time to have met a large enough sample size of members from each fanbase to extrapolate generalities therefrom.

Georgia fans are usually pretty cool, level-headed people, and knowledgeable fans.

Ditto for LSU fans.

I've also had only good encounters with Auburn fans.

Bama fans are clearly thinking to themselves "my program is better than your program" as they speak to me, but at least they know their stuff.

Vandy fans are just dicks.

Not a ton of ole miss, MSU, or arky fans up here.

Florida fans have the sense of entitlement of Bama fans, but minus the knowledge. And I get the sense that most of them are little more than passive fans. Foreheads become shriveled in confusion if you ask them who their offensive coordinator is. Or the name of the starting free safety. They won't have the first damn clue.

Kentucky fans are waiting till basketball season.

I like USCe fans. They are an enthusiastic lot.

Arkansas fans took 10 years to realize that Nutt was not producing an SEC level effort. We lose.

Also one must consider Hogville. We still lose.

i've been in nashville partying downtown on a vandy gameday and ran into a group of vandy students that did not even know they had a football game that day.

What do you suggest we should do? Conduct a poll?

Question #1: what team do you root for?
Question #2: on a scale of 1-5, how knowledgeable are you in regards to your team?

Although I think this would give us fantastic results, I think we'll have to settle for anecdotal evidence as exhibit A. And then your posts as exhibit B. No no. Let's go with that guy with the Tosh avatar. Yeah, his posts can be exhibit B.

I would suggest to you that not all students of any university are fans of the school's football program. So that not knowing a game is taking place is NOT the sign of an knowledgeable fan, it's a sign of someone who doesn't care. I sure couldn't tell you the Razorback volleyball schedule. don't care.

unknowledgeable is the idiot sitting in the stand, or watching on tv screaming about how good/bad things are when he obviously has no clue either way.

Even sidewalk gumps know football chief.
For the most part, I think the gumps are pretty knowledgeable. Although there are the exceptions that just think Alabama wins because they are Alabama. I remember Legend calling in prior to Auburn's national championship game saying that it's not in Auburn's DNA to win national championship...implying of course, that it is in Alabama's DNA. It's doesn't have a thing to do with winning tradition or DNA. Alabama doesn't win because it's a tradition, they win because they have awesome talent and awesome coaches.

Ok, you are silly but based on your criteria posted earlier I am very knowledgeable about UF football.

Charlie Weis is our OC and our starting safety is...

...hold on BRB.

I picture in Huntsville, AL working for NASA.

amirite?

I'm going to have to go with who I believe to be the most delusional fan base...because the most knowledgeable, I think, are brought back down to Earth with a realistic understanding of football and where they stand. Mississippi State probably and closely followed by Arkansas.

I'd put those rednecks up against any fanbase in the country, strictly in terms of ignorance.

Wrong. It's when a fan doesn't know who their OC is or their starting safety. Come on dude. Get with the scientific method already.

You picture me?

I actually used to live in Huntsville. I co-op'd there in undergrad. Not NASA, though.
