Average stay on death row in most states is 18 years. In Texas, it's about 7. If there's one thing Texas can take pride in, it's thinning the heard of scumbags.

I don't really like the death penalty. I'd much rather have these guys work in a prison chain gang busting their arse 7 days a week (in which the state pays the victims family for their work time) until their bodies can't handle it anymore... and then die.

It costs WAY to much money to kill someone these days.

Ever had someone taken from you? It's tough to stomach, and the families get sense of relief from it. I have had 3 taken from me by the means of murder.

A big to that judge for overruling the jury's life sentence.

Anybody else find it ironic that Lockhart told Burk's dad to "not bring my daughter into this"?

Wish I could put the needle in his arm myself. Just disgusting.

Most states are trying to abolish the death penalty, in Texas they put in an express line.

I wish. That is the state my wife's best friend was murdered in. I thought for sure they'd give the bastard the death penalty because it also involved robbery. Instead, he got 55 years.

Yes I have... Two very close friends.

What I'm saying here is that if they die, they die. I have no problem with that. Just means that both people are dead now (murderer and victim).

However, if I can take solace in knowing that a-hole that killed my loved one is busting his arse (almost torture) every single day of his life that would make me smile every day.

Do murderers deserve to live? Hell no. But my solution is a lot better than spending millions on appeals every year. And the government does spend millions on appeals in every state, every year in the US.

Anyways... Just my opinion. It will never happen. Too many human rights groups would bitch about it.

The Death Penalty is outrageously expensive. I'm all for either A, making it far easier and quicker to get done when convicted.

Or B, make them work 7 days a week until they die. Use that money to pay for the prison that they have to live in or something.
