Know your new coach will love having Saban looking over his shoulder. What could possibly go wrong with that?

Saban is the best coach college football has ever seen. I think he just got to the point of too old to be dealing with these new age kids and said peace.

Saban retired because “ima get mines” became the norm and he wasn’t gonna spend the last bit of his career putting up with that shite, IMO.

Yep. Trolling/fandoms aside, I respect that.

Good for him.

Agreed. And he just got those 2 dealerships in Miami and the new house. The writing was on the wall for anyone that looked.

I’m sure he got tired of the hassle. He will be 73 years old this year after all. He has looked totally miserable for years

It was exactly what Coach DeBoer asked for.
Who better to get him up to speed on the workings of the most successful football program of the 21st Century?

He would have said anything to get that fat paycheck. If Saban actually shows up and I have my doubts, his supervision will get old fast. You are either HEAD coach at Bama or you aren’t. You are a puppet doing the bidding of old GrandPaw Nick. You know preparing his coffee just the way he likes it and washing his car

It is blatantly obvious that The University of Alabama football program has made a hollow, vindictive blowhard out of probably a once reasonable Dog fan.
Are there many of your kind in the "peach state" who have had their hearts ripped out too many times by The Tide, and now feel nothing but envy, jealousy, and hatred toward your next state neighbors?
I hope you people find a way to get over this psychological "decay" y'all have experienced...good luck!!

Well, he was the most unethical, underhanded, cheating bastard that the game ever saw.

Paid massive sums and handed out new cars like candy long before NIL.

Would sacrifice a player's health in a heartbeat to win a game.

Paid off officials.

Yes, I could see the NCAA sniffing around now that his butt buddy Emmert retired.

With Florida St and Florida being hit with NIL issues and Saban retiring all of a sudden I think there was a bargaining agreement.

Just doesn’t make sense that Saban would duck out so quickly and now he’s nowhere to be seen

Many on here thought Texas A&M will be punished for NIL violation(s).

Smokey talking about player safety when fans throw mustard bottles, coach’s handing out envelopes full of $$$ to recruit and players from top middle drawer of his office desk.
Then there is Phillip Fulmer.

Sounds like it was a HUGE event to Bama when the refs gave that SEC championship to the Tide. Beating the Back to back national champs. Thanks for acknowledging Georgias back to back natties. It WAS a huge deal. Georgia should have won that game and the playoffs proved that. But Christmas came early for Bama. That was quite a gift from the refs of the SEC. All it needed was a big crimson bow.

So much trauma and damage.

The fact they let Bobby Bowden count his wins at Howard(Samford) and South Georgia as part of his winning record for all time tells you how screwed up the system is. This over Bears record is no comparison. Plus the easy road he took in the ACC.
