Mizzou was picked by most to win the East their first year in the SEC. I do remember that.

A mediocre team like Missouri shouldn't be competing at all, right??? This is the SEC. SEC suppose to be deep as frick from top to bottom.

Terron Harris played the entire second half, committed two turnovers, and the special teams gave up two scores for the Gators, not Driskel

1. It's Treon
2. He didn't play the entire second half he played in the 4th and led us to our only two scoring drives (albeit in garbage time so it doesn't matter)
3. I'm fairly certain he only had one turnover
4. We would've lost that game even with Harris playing but don't falsely present facts to make your case

Has Mizzou benefited from a weak eastern division...absolutely. But I refuse to not enjoy the fact that we have some of the worst recruiting in the SEC and still manage to compete after being told repeatedly that we would continually butt raped in the SEC.

This is one of the weaker teams we've fielded in the past 7-8 years with the exception of 2012...I don't see many Mizzou fans saying this is a great team.

I've never seen a healthy Mizzou offense play this damn bad. It's actually sad to watch. Can't believe they are winning games. Mizzou is known for putting up points when healthy. Now they are struggling to get into the 30's on offense.

The east champ put up 42 points on the west champ...what does that say about the SEC as a conference then?

Not directed at you Randomways....But all people said when Mizzou got picked to join the SEC is that Mizzou won't compete, can't compete, sucks, etc.

Funny how a team that sucks, lesser talent, plays in a high school stadium is doing better than a lot of SEC teams in the past 2yrs.

People laugh at Mizzou for losing to Indiana, what does that says about the teams that lose to Mizzou....hahahehe, Indiana knows how to beat Mizzou and those teams can't. Which in turns make people talk shite on the SEC because sorry arse Indiana can beat Mizzou but mighty SEC teams can't.

Mizzou have no business leading the SEC East since they suck, right???? SEC East teams should be dominating 2-3* avg Mizzou recruits. LOL@ those retarded recruiting rankings, not helping a lot of teams out huh.

And before we talk about SEC West teams....Mizzou beat TAMU and Ole Miss last season. I guess those teams were also down last year. Mizzou is competing in the SEC and it pisses people off because it debunks that myth that the whole damn conference is a powerhouse.

The whole conference isn't a powerhouse. That should be obvious just using basic deduction. Some teams are going to be worse than others if any teams are clearly at the top. But the conference as a whole is a powerhouse, collectively-speaking. That's borne out by the SEC's OOC and bowl records over the last few years.

Mizzou has gotten some flack, much of it coming from that first season (yes, injury-riddled, but y'all did look positively Arkansanian. Arkansanan? Arkansasian? Ah, who cares.) Y'all have done much better in the last year-and-a-half, but our division does suffer in comparison to the SEC-W lately, so it's hard to get the respect y'all feel you deserve because the SEC teams that have made the biggest splash on the national scene have either beaten you or haven't played you for the most part. Your biggest SEC wins have been a UGA team that finished 8-5 and a TAMU team that went 9-4 (respectable but not astounding). At the same time, you lost to the 10 win teams like 2013 USC and Auburn, 2012 Bama, UF, UGA, etc.

It is what it is. Y'all need a true signature win, and, unfortunately, this year isn't going to provide it now that you've lost to UGA and your SEC-W opponents aren't impressive.

This is to take nothing away from Missouri. They've earned some respect. But it's going to be tough sledding until you take down a real SEC powerhouse in a powerhouse season (i.e. UF this season doesn't count.) And, as you should already have learned by now, that won't stop people from ragging on you. It doesn't stop them from doing it to Auburn, LSU, Bama, etc, and you're not going to be the exception.

What was the reason for saying it last year though? The East had one of its top 1/4 seasons its every had last year.

This wouldn't surprise me, we are bad this year. The point is that even one of the worst Mizzou teams in recent memory, save 2012, is competing in a conference that we are supposed to be lucky to win 1 or 2 games in.

That's a completely logical perspective. Pinkel is the most contemporary coach in the East and continuously produces. That defense is amazing to watch. They basically plug and play in that system. Those 2 and 3 stars play as a more cohesive unit than a bunch of 5 stars for a washed up coach. Pinkel maximizes that philosophy.

You are being sarcastic, but that is a 100% legit reason.

That's why it's even more funnier that Mizzou is in the hunt for the SECCG. They lost to Indiana but beating SEC teams. Mizzou would probably finish towards the bottom of the B1G or Big 12 but have a chance to go to the SECCG. Wow. See how that works.

Good post. bayou2003 nailed every post, too.

Pinkel realized early on his offense was going to probably suck, so he's been maximizing the strengths of his team - defense and special teams - by repeatedly playing for field position. Our kicker leads the league in touchbacks while our punting philosophy has been with a "no-return" goal. Smart coaching, period.

Mizzou is going to be hard pressed to win out and could easily lose any or all. But if the offense continues to make marginal improvement, they've got a helluva chance to pull it off in a complete rebuilding year. And props to Pinks if they do.

I dislike the mizzourites as much as the next guy but your post is shite .... and shite usually drops from an a-hole.

The SEC East finished with two teams in the Top 5 last season which the West might accomplish this season. And last year's SECCG was competitive.

The West is doing great this year though. Very strong.

We can thank Will Muschamp for that failed 2 QB game. What a cluster fuk. I would love to see that game played again.
Sorry killz and MO both suck. The entire east is a joke.
