granted lsu had a fabulous regular season but yep i agree, the nc would make me want to shut up about the season considering how dang bad lsu looked in that game. it was bama bama bama playing some team that looked like they didn't deserve to be there.

If Alabama counts 1941, I have no problem with LSU counting 2011.

Quite ironic since it was Bama who didn't deserve to be there. They showed up for their Super Bowl redo though.

If we didn't count 1941, I don't see others anyone could really bitch about. That the University still claims it is kind of embarassing.

It is difficult, but not if you are the better team. Bama beat Florida twice in 1999 (regular season and SECCG).

You were a great team in 2011, you just weren't better than Bama.

Also, perhaps your whole "difficult to beat a team twice" argument would have more merit if you were at least competitive in the BCSNG game.

Actually it's not. They do, but the SEC doesn't.

Considering that the UPI (aka Coaches' Poll) awarded Alabama the national championship, and no one awarded LSU such a thing, I find that to be dubious.

You do you, though.

im still confused why LSU has to win 2 games to prove its greatness, but Bama only needed 1. No bias.

LSU was the number 1 ranked team at the end of the regular season and lost its bowl game to Alabama.
Alabama was the number 1 ranked team at the end of the regular season and lost its bowl game to Notre Dame.

I can't find any differences other than LSU winning in Tuscaloosa in 2011.

I like how you ignore the fact that one of the major polls awarded Alabama the MNC. That's the rub, bub.

I am with you. Yall need to claim that 2011 title.

frick SEC math is amazing. Claim all the titles, why not? All it does is piss other non-SEC people off which is great.

Well, let me break it down for you. The voters, all college football observers with triple digit IQ, anyone outside of Louisiana, and the world, in general, all knew after that first game that Bama was the better team with the worse kicker. LSU had 3 scoring opportunities in game one - a FG right before the half (the only time all game you DROVE into coring position in Alabama territory), an INT that gave you the ball at the 15 (you got less than 5 yards and kicked a FG), and a FG in OT when you started at the Bama 25 yard line.

Conversely, Bama had scoring opportunities on its first 4 drives of the game (3 missed and 1 made FG - no punts, no turnovers). Bama had 7 scoring opportunities resulting in 4 missed FGs, 2 made FGs, and an INT at the 1 yard line.

People saw who the better team was and it was proven to all on 1/9/12. To argue otherwise after witnessing a game in which your team managed 92 yards of total offense, gave up 384 in offense to Bama, crossed the 50 one time, and got shutout while being beaten by 21 points is quite ridiculous.

You had 5 first downs in that game. You averaged 1.4 yards per carry in that game (even LF7 sees that number and is like, 'Damn! I averaged more per carry than that when Bama stopped my heisman train'). I could go on.
