lol Suttles is in the spin zone

Aaron Suttles @AaronSuttles
I have confirmed from multiple sources that Lance Thompson was told to find a job elsewhere.

I didn't realize we had lost a coach to the Vols. Oh well. I see a pattern here. Bottom line, we were never gonna get past the first round of the playoffs with the LB's we had. Saban usually replaces departed coaches with a great upgrade. Thompson left before 2009 and that was a pretty good team. We gonna recruit fine. We need to be more disciplined and fundamentally sound on D. I'm cool with both these cats being gone. Now, if we could just find a place for Bobby Williams.

Of course he was. That goes right in line with "he didn't have a committable offer anyway" or my favorite "we have somebody higher on our board".

I can admit that Sal Sunseri as OLBs coach in 2009-2011 saw improved play. But wasn't the recruiter Thompson is. I won't say I wanted him gone. He's too damn good of a recruiter.

have no fricking idea what a position coach does,

That's damn stupid. I don't have to beat my chest, but I've been around the program enough to know what Lance Thompson does. People around here can vouch for me on that.

You can say apparently Saban doesn't think much of him, but you really have no idea.

I can form a pretty good opinion based on the facts we have available to us.

Oh, shut the frick up. No one thinks you know how to coach linebackers. I know every Bama fan thinks they are part of the program or whatever, but seriously, that's hilarious. Rank the linebackers coaches in the SEC top to bottom and specifically tell us what part of their coaching technique makes them great coaches.

Spin away, gumps.

How many different times has saban hired LT?

When he leaves he was "told to find another job".

So he's making up that he spoke to multiple sources who told him this. Got it

The past few weeks it was your secondary that was the weak point of your defense. Now the LBs were the problem all along.

great recruiter but our LBs seem to have regressed since he came back in 2012

Now if we can just get rid of the ST coach, this can be a good offseason.

Saban has hired him three times. Once at LSU and twice at Alabama. Thompson also worked under Mike Dubose at Alabama.

I'm guessing it was somewhere in the middle. I doubt he was truly pushed out and I doubt it was a full coup either.

That said, expecting us to believe unknown sources vaguely referenced by a Saban-worshiping beat writer is kind of ridiculous, no?

Yeah because Tennessee under Derrick Dooley and Auburn under Malzahn are exactly the same. You can also just ignore that Travaris Robinson was considered Florida's best recruiter under Muschamp and 6 or 7 members of Auburn's new coaching staff have been named top 25 recruiters at least once. This is easily the best recruiting staff Auburn has ever had on paper

Who the hell said they did? I just said I'm around the program enough to know what Thompson does on a daily basis.

I coach for a living, btw.

They were both problems. At least we're working towards fixing one of them.
