This type of decision is further proof that we shouldn't be giving idiots that type of money.

Senquez Golson turned down a 750k signing bonus and several more thousand dollars from the BoSox to come play at OM... Of course he was a unanimous AA selection at cornerback last year and got drafted... Kiper called have the best all around athlete in the draft and said he would've been a 1st rounder if he was 3 inches taller... Kyler will leave CS and go play baseball ... It'll work out for him and he'll get paid.

Golson's better potential was at baseball too. Chose the sport he loved and decided to work at it. Paid off in the end. I'm still not convinced he's better at football. Was very good baseball player but ceiling there was sky high. He's still got to learn slot to be an nfl starter imo. But he has the work ethic for sure.

Couldn't he just play College Ball at A&M

He is going to play baseball. He was a dual sport shoe-in, wherever he went.

Chump change compared to what he can make at A&M if he plays well

A lot of money but still the college football life in the SEC is way better than minor league baseball life. Nothing is stopping him from dropping CFB and going pro in baseball.

and he still may. nothing says he has to continue with football. but, turning down 4 mil to play for aTm indicates he is stupid to the max.

Should have pulled a Brandon Weeden.

Play for 2 years, come back to A&M when Kyle allen is gone. Get the best of both scenarios.

Feel bad for the kid but he made the decision. At the same time I can't help but not feel bad for these families that think "they'll be given the starting job" if they turn down an MLB contract.

Murray isn't ready to start in SEC and he won't be for another year. Exceptional athlete but I question if he made the right business decision.

The pro scouts hated Murray. They hated having to go to Allen to scout him. To a man they all said it was one head ache after another. He would have dropped on the draft pretty far even if wasn't a football player or said he was going baseball route
